Did you play at Tom's in Phoenix?

Folks, I received the following email for your interest:

My husband and I own Tom’s Tavern, in downtown Phoenix. The eatery has been around since 1929---it has a great deal of history, including a pool hall and gambling den in the back room. We’re looking for some old timers: judges, lawyers, or pool hustlers who used to hang out in the old Tom’s. They are invited to our birthday bash in early December. Please let me know if you are aware of any of these individuals and send me their contact information.

Best,

Terry Ratner

Fat Bill

Fat Bill was the best snooker player at Hollywood and Western on the west coast.
He was a stand-up comedian somewhat like Don Rickles but he never got
his big break like Sinatra gave to Rickles.
In the 60's he moved back to Phoenix and became the action man at Tom's Tavern.
He had no problem getting stake horses because no matter how much
he lost he was hilarious.I would see backers laughing so hard they
were crying as he explained how he went off.
Well,Bill's gone now and so are the snooker tables.
He made Tom's look like the set of SNL.
God rest him
