Great guy, great cue. I have a wrapless with a Josey shaft and a Predator shaft Keith made to match the cue. Some of the best wood I have ever seen.
4-6 month wait time also make sure you ask him about the blank he will be using to build your sneaky. He buys them some where and they are not perfect so ask him if there are any imperfections in it so you can add inlays in those areas. By wrapless do you mean a standard cue with no points or just a wrapless sneaky?
i have a question to add too
i like thinner tips and was thinking about getting a josey cue with 12mm tip, any comments from people who've played with a josey shaft at or close to a 12mm tip?
Thanks man
I'm having second thoughts now....
Personally, I do not think you should be having 2nd thoughts at all, but that is MHO.
I find it rather interesting how there can be over 20 positive responses, and then the ONE negative response seems to wipe all the rest away. The reality here is that there are just some folks who will never be happy with something, no matter how hard one tries.
What I will tell you is that the cue I had was flawless. Inlays were tight; fit and finish were outstanding, and on par with Keith's higher end cues. Since you were considering one of his fancier petes, the issue that ruggz mentioned above would not even be a consideration, and there would be inlays at the point bottoms anyways. I have seen some of Keith's less fancy petes without the inlays at the point bottoms, and they appeared to be just fine, and without the 'Grand Canyon' type of gaps mentioned above.
Bottom line here is that Keith has a very excellent reputation to maintain, and I highly doubt that he would let anything out of his shop that was sub-par.
I would really highly suggest that you CALL Keith and Sherri and speak with them on the phone about your desires for a cue, and about your concerns as well...at least give them the opportunity to address them, instead of taking the word of one individual here on the forums. You do yourself and the Joseys a disservice by not talking to them before making your final decision.
Here are some links to other threads here on AZ concerning thoughts and opinions on Keith's cues:
