Dieckman cue with mismatched shaft?

I just added a beautiful Dennis Dieckman cue to my collection, and I'm curious about the shaft. It doesn't match the butt, so I'm thinking it's not original. Assuming it's not, who would you recommend to make a matching shaft for me?

UPDATE: Andy Vandervoord has agreed to make a new shaft for me. He has some of Dennis' old equipment and wood. I probably won't be able to get much closer to original. I'm going to meet him when I'm back in Michigan over Thanksgiving.

nice bit of cue history you have
lots of cue makers out there that can make a good shaft for you, take your pick
hard to go wrong really

Is your cue a pool cue or a carom cue? If it is a carom cue Ron Kilby might be worth a call. If it is a pool cue then your list opens up considerably..

Very nice example of his work!

Thanks! I knew what the shaft looked like before I bought the cue, but I couldn't pass up the deal. I'm primarily hoping for confirmation one way of the other.

My other Dieckman has matching joint collars and no ferrule.

easy to replace black ring on shaft with white if that is what is bothering you
That, plus the brass ferrule. My other Dieckman cue has no ferrule.

Lots of Dennis’ shafts are a bit off.
But I love ‘em!

I’m happy to have been to his shop when he lived in Michigan.

He was never one for precision in his work. I always thought his cues looked like what a stoned woodworker would do on a dare, which I guess was basically him LOL
He was definitely one of a kind. I remember a tournament at a fancy city club around 2004. He was sort of the tournament director/master of ceremonies. He showed up in a tuxedo and barefoot.
