Different cues for diferent games?

I'm curious.

I can see that many players have a bunch of cues for collecting or just because of G.A.S (gear aquisition syndrome).

Do you have a 9 or 10 ball cue, 8ball, and a 14.1. cue?.

Thanks

Don't know about anybody else, but I do. I use my Phillipi cue for my 8-ball play, I use my McDermott Dubliner for all my 9-bal play, I use my ivory jointed Coker for all my 14.1 and 1 pocket play. If I ever found myself playing Snooker of 3-Cushion on a solid basis I would invest in specific snooker and billiard cues. But I don't, so those cue acquisitions are on the back burner.

I suspect that some people would certainly use different cues for different games. However, the only games that really require a different cue are 3-Cushion Billiards and Snooker. The cues for these games are specially designed for those games, the main difference being in the cues length and the stiffness of the Taper used.

I have my custom and a break cue for 9' games, a billiards cue for billiards, and a snooker cue for snooker.

A 1-Pocket cue might help my game a little though; my barbox cue tends to overhit them a tad.

Thanks guys that's good news. I just play 14.1 and 9 ball so Il can get buy with one just fine.

I will be looking for a back-up one of these days. I am very happy with my D-10 so I'll look for another.

Joss cue for straight pool.

Meucci for everything else.

I play all games, including snooker and 3-C, and use just one cue. I don't think it makes much, if any, difference.

What type of shaft do you play with? Even my LD shafts are unhappy when faced with billiards. For snooker, I actually do overhit the balls with my pool cue. It may be that mental switch of using a different cue that tones down the power for snooker. That, and I'm rather attached to the snooker cue, I've had it for many years.

Ghosst...I play primarily with two LD shafts, both 11.75...Tiger X Pro and G-Core.

I have a friend with identical shafts on one butt. One shaft has a hard tip on it, the other has a medium tip on it. The hard tipis used for power games (-ball, 8-ball), while the mediumtip is used for finesse games (1-pocket, 14.1, 1-15).
