The one ball thread got me thinking about all of the games on a pool table that can be played. Some of my favorite non-standard games are:

Cribbage - You can play it with the numbers adding up to 15, or the matching color stripe/solid

Rotation - 61 point rotation, excellent game hardly ever played anymore.

What are some of the games, other than the standards (8,9,10,14.1,one pocket etc) that you have played and enjoyed? Even better if its something you havent played in years and would like to again.

I've played golf, it sucks.
Cutthroat is okay with proper rules.
7 Ball is a good challenge

What about for cribbage doing runs or 3 in a row for instance (3-4-5)? I've played a lot of that card game and figured that plus any combos that total 15 could be good for that game.

Honolulu is a great to play for like a shot socializing in the bar. Basically anything but a cut shot (no short rails too) so it focuses on some of the more fun/challenging shots in pool. I've played it for money too, but usually my buddies and I play it for a shot since they feel they have a better chance winning at that vs a regular game of pool for some reason lol.

You could try a few new games by clicking on the site after GAMES in my signature. UP is a good game.

Thanks guys, not looking for new games personally, just a breath of fresh air and a new topic.

Honolulu is a great game.

Fast 8, im guessing you are talking short rack 8 ball (9ball rack)?

Anybody play cowboy anymore? Bowlliards etc?

Lots of games can be played on a pool table. ;)

I really don´t know real name of game I got involved maybe 3 years ago. Guy who teach me this game told it was "Chinese 8-ball"

Practically: 8-ball. Official rules.
Twist: after break you use any stripe or solid ball as cueball and try carom them in after hit to actual Cueball...

After choice is made one have solids and other stripes. Call pocket and first you always have to hit carom(to original cueball). One can hit rail first and carom after it to make a ball: But carom is a MUST to make successful pot.

If Actual cueball is scratched then opponent can put it anywhere and continue..

All normal 8-ball rules apply. and so on....

Fun game!

I read about this game somewhere. I think it was in an old book by Steve Mizerak or possibly one of Robert Byrne's books. I want to say it was called something like "Mississippi Pool" or Mississippi 8-Ball", but I am not sure. I always wanted to try it.

Dang, I think I know who won one of these Honolulu tourneys up in Alaska. Mark Tullis was his name. Surely some know of him here in AZB land. RIP Mark!
