I was in Greece this summer and visited a super nice room in Thessaloniki, Greece's second biggest city behind Athens. It had lights I'd never seen before. I liked them a ton. They were pretty, they lit the table well, and the tassels stopped glare when walking around the room. They seem simple enough that they would make a good DIY project. I have not tried to find them online.
I'm not sure why the center panels were a different color. It might have been a mistake for this light. I can't remember if the other lights were like this. I played on this table for hours and didn't notice until I took the picture.
I stood on my toes and was able to get this picture from above.
No/minimal side glare, unlike many of the lights that have come out in the past 10 years. Very comfortable to walk around the room.

If you're ever in Thessaloniki, this room is THE place to go. It's 4 floors, about 25 tables total. The owner has had it for 40 years and now runs it with his sons. He's super nice and set me up with games with the better players every night for a week. All the equipment was top notch. All GC's 4's, 5's, 6's. They were immaculate, even the older 4's looked brand new. Simonis everywhere. And even the Black Aramith tournemanet ball sets. Everything in Greece is about double what it costs in the USA, so this was a much bigger expense than equivalent equipment in the USA. All 4 floors were also packed every night. The owner had 15 staff working every night. I loved it.
