Digicue Blue. Guys are Afraid to Know?

There’s a speed limit on stroking into a Coke bottle?!

Lou Figueroa
who knew

I would not know, I have never worried about doing something as ridiculous as stroking my cue into a bottle. What kind of feedback does that bottle give you for different speeds anyway?

You said:

I can stroke all day long into a Coke bottle but that doesnt mean that I can draw the ball more than 2 inches. If I have a good straight accelerating stroke I know that I will be able to draw the cue ball confidently when needed.

So you seem to be suggesting that there is some reason why you can't accelerate your stroke when shooting into a Coke bottle.

If you have any questions about the DigiCue products, please feel free to ask me, or PM.

I saw an ad on eBay for a Digicue Blue parts only, are there any longevity issues with the Blue? How long would one expect the life expectancy of the Blue to be?

Thanks
Jim

The micro switch is made by Panasonic and I paid a little bit more for a high et quality part. The button clicks are well within millions of cycles and they also have a thru hole plug, so shear force is transferred to the PCB through the plug and not just the solder pads. I saw two out of about 8000 switches break from manufacturing defects, so the yield is very good.

The vibrational motor is the same part in the LG G4, has gold plated spring mounts and is engineered to last a very long time. Also a high quality part.

The rest of the parts are solid state and have no lifetime limit if you operate them between -20C to 85C. The EEPROM and Flash have extremely long retention lifetimes these days, around 50 years or more.

The battery lasts about 30000 shots, and I did a lot of work to reduce power to keep it maxed out.

The most vulnerable part of the product is the polypropylene cap, which can not withstand an angry player smashing the end of his cue on the ground... it crushes the standoffs and smooshed the foam pad on the motor. I can tell by inspection when someone does this. Otherwise it is very robust.

The silicone housing will not deform even under extreme human strength stress, and will not affect the butt of the cue. It is high quality silicone, not tire rubber, so it will not leave marks.

I dont know why they would be selling parts. I think we've only had a handful of warranty returns, the vast majority being from a butt smash as I mentioned above.

Thanks for taking your time to give a very thorough explanation of your product.

You're welcome

I'm glad you posted so we all can see how it's made. I love the device and work on it every day. The two parameters I work on is tip sheer and follow through. Follow through is a big one for me because I almost jerk the cue back to the cue ball instead of a steady acceleration. Thankfully, I have a pool teacher that pegs both of these parameters with his first try so I can see the model of a perfect stroke (in my opinion).
I'm wondering if there is a device so we can feel the proper acceleration to the cue ball... Maybe something like a rubber band device or something else. I'll keep thinking about how it begins slow and then accelerates through the cue ball to get a 9 or 10 on the Digicue Blue. I can see the professionals stroking this way. I've only had the device 10 days or so and I'll keep working on these parameters. Already went from a 4 or 5 to a 6 or 7 on average acceleration so working on it may get the results I'm looking for.
Thanks again for a great device.

Thanks

Thank you Prairie dog for suggesting this product and Thank you Nataddrho for such a wonderful product. I bought a Digicue Blue Friday and started using it in intermediate mode and now it it is Tuesday morning. I had big issues with my straightness which is now a 7.8 from 5.6 and my follow through from 5.0 to 6.0. This is like a teacher or a nagging wife that is constantly reminding you to do something about your flaws and it is working for me. Anything that will help me be a better player I am willing to try which is what makes this a great forum.

Thank again guys and gals for making AZ what it is.

Bet a little bit and that digicue will be shaking then what fixes that ? All strokes are different. WE are fine the way WE are . But whatever you say , WE are afraid !!!! Let ME know when that Digicue fixes yalls stroke and we can play some sets ! Good luck
Not that I'm in the market for a DigiCue, but I'm betting that you know that if you develop very good mechanics, it will make you less likely to break down under pressure than if you have poor mechanics.

That's the exact reason for trying to develop them.

Also, calling someone out to gamble when you know for a fact that you are a far better player is a bad look.

Yes, each stroke through the cb gets analyzed and recorded.

So if I play for an hour with the device attached, at the end of that hour it will be able to tell me how many strokes I made in that hour?

If so I might have to buy one.

It will also tell you the elapsed time between each stroke. Many other variables are recorded as well.
