DigitalPool bracket glitch, are there any experienced TD's here?

*I emailed this to digitalpool support, but also asking here*

I hosted a double elimination tournament today with a single elimination finals. The winner’s and loser’s side bracket did not converge into a final match. I played out that match anyway (I did it on paper…). Does anyone know what went wrong? Is there anyway to fix it now, so I can add the data of the final match? I did not press “complete tournament” yet as I’d like to resolve this first.

It's a buggy site, and everyone knows it. And administrators are know to ignore emails to correct issues.

Take a screenshot, abandon the tournament, and recreate the tournament, and see if the brackets merge properly. That is basically your only option if you are trying to fix this yourself.

Thanks, yeah, I've never gotten a response from their support on prior inquires....

I found the issue. I had picked this tournament type. I think any of us would expect it to result in a double elimination bracket with a single elimination finals, right?

It resulted in what I had in post 1, with the brackets never converging. I was able to recreate this with a brand new tournament, so I guess it's on purpose? There must be a format out there like this? Who knows...

Instead, this must be picked, with the NO button selected.

I edited the whole tournament type and recreated the bracket. I hope FargoRate still accepts it.

I sent them an email a few weeks ago, and got nothing back. I guess they're busy.

Yes we have tournaments like that here in Quebec. Called accelerated. Basically makes for a faster tournament, you can only place 1st and 2nd if you stay on winners side. Then 3rd onwards is losers side. Saves 2 last matches so tournament finishes a couple of hours early. Usually Sunday tournaments

I'm curious what the normal protocol is for Double Elimination? I started playing in my local tournament about 5 months ago and managed a couple of 4th places. At Christmas I ended up with one loss and up against the guy left in the hot seat. He simply came up and said "we can split it and just play a frame from shits n giggles'

Being the new guy I simply agreed and was happy to have got my name on the board as 2nd.

Afterwards I wondered what would happen if I had said "err...no, I want to play for the win'...LOL

This could have meant 2 more matches (first to 2) so I presume that's why they don't do it. We had already been playing for close to 4 hours.

Wow! That's a pretty neat idea! Thanks.
