Got a weird call on Sunday evening from a producer of the Discovery channel's Construction Intervention show. The producer said he was in desperate need of mechanics to set up 10 GC I's that had to be done the next day. I made a call to Bob DeTurk and Steve Gephard who both cleared there schedule to go with me to Long Island, NY. As it turned out the company hired to do the job was not to happy to see us show up. The producer who called us had jumped the gun. The hired company was Century Billiards from East Northport, NY. It is a family owned business run by Bob Grimaldi and his son James. Bob's brother Rich Grimaldi who makes the outdoor pool tables Gameroom Concepts was up from Florida along with his right hand and godson Billy to help the family get the job done. We offered Bob our services in anyway we could help. The jobsite was crazy. There were at least 50 to 60 guys working in the pool room at the same time. Bringing in the slate was like walking through a mine field. There was stuff everywhere. We had a great time working with the Grimaldi family. Great mechanics and super nice people. We left before the job was done because of the long ride home. Can't wait to see the finished room and hope to work with the Grimaldi's again one day.
