They look great and he seems to be a nice guy, but, unfortunately, I have never hit with one. The craftsmanship is first rate.

I have a high end Dishaw cue that I will have till the day I die. I am a cue collector and have many great cues. Dan's cues are artistic and play fantastic. His quality is second to none. I have one caveat: Dan uses a lot of faux ivory. In my opinion it cheapens his work.

I have one of the first 12 cues Dan made. I've had it since '95 and though I've owned several others since, it's currently the only playing cue I own. When I bought mine, Dan's cues were considered to be "the poor man's Southwest". Dan played with Southwest cues before he started making his own and kind of modeled his after them, though the way the joint fits is a bit different. At the time, you could get one of Dan's cues for a LOT less than a Southwest. I have people on a list who want to buy mine and several standing offers. I haven't met anyone who didn't like the way they play.

excellent

Thanks for the feed back. I've spoken with him on the phone and he seems to be a very nice guy. I just might buy one.

I just got a new Dishaw Cue about 2 weeks ago, fresh out of his shop. One of the first things you'll notice is the beauty of the cue. His craftsmanship is top of the line. The points are very sharp, the inlays and veneers are carefully done, the material is high quality. The balance of the cue is amazing. Its a very solid hitting cue. I've owned many cues before, but I will never give up my Dishaw.

and Dan does make traveling cases for other cuemakers. He also has many creditals, such as President of the ACA, and board member of the BCA.

I've hit with geo's dishaw- its a greatly balanced, well crafted cue. A real stiff hitter. I like it :)

Wow, he makes some beautiful cues. I had never heard of him before, but I just looked him up, and the prices seem like they are right in line with what I want to spend for my next cue.

How does the balance of his cues compare to a Southwest with a similar joint? I tried a friend's Southwest and really liked the balance. The hit was good too, of course. But what I really loved was the balance. I tried a couple of Richard Harris' also, and the balance is similar, but I didn't like it nearly as well. Currently I'm using a Jacoby with a metal joint and Predator shaft, so it's a bit heavy in the back and light in the front. On top of this, it has a big metal pin that lets you extend the butt, which adds more weight in the back. The Southwest felt more uniformly balanced, and this is what I would like in my next cue.
