DIY Cases

Are there any members who have made their own cases? I would love to see pictures of homemade cases posted whether leather, wood or plastic.

Link in my signature. Two examples.

I have made more and am working on one right now. A Fellini style case. I practiced molding PVC tubing with a heat gun and making oval tubing is actually easy.

I don't like tooled leather, but I do saddle stitching. I love leather.

homemade case

Take one beat up old Giuseppe, rip off all vinyl and straps. Add fur from dead Alpaca with 3m spray adhesives and staples. Wrap tight with rope while setting up. Whala...pimped out 3x6. Still working on snap closure handle. Not sure this is what you had in mind...it's all I have to offer fur now. Matt D.

That's a awesome case, quite creative!
To the OP check my profile, every case I posted is handmade

Mr King you sir are the man. This was obviously just for kicks...still working on a simple leather handle. Love love love your work sir.

Mr pool whale...I have enough fur left to do about 4 or 5 more. Maybe I can throw something together for you. Free of charge of course. Let's see how this one turns out first. Matt D.

If that case moves then someone better shoot it! :p

I reconditioned this case and re-did the interior, but i'm not the original maker. It was probably made by a smaller time leather worker/pool enthusiast or maybe even a saddle maker, etc. Who knows...

2 PVC tubes with an inner lining, wrapped in leather. There is a side handle, and lid with a buckle strap as well. The tooling is the best part!

You did a great job, looks good.

I built this one for myself a long time ago, it was before I ever built any to sell. I hadn't figured out yet I needed to finish the edges on them, lol.

Well, at the end of the day you ended up doing something you love & your cases are certainly sought after. Well, now that you realized about finishing the edges and all
