Okay, magic rack with 9 on the spot. Is there still a dead ball?
The WPBA played with the 9 ball racked on the spot and from what I recall the one in the side is pretty high percentage. That said, it is a lot better than the wing ball being wired because you still have to play shape on the next lowest ball not knowing for sure which one that will be. With the soft break and wing ball wired you can be almost sure the one will stay up and controlled so you have a shot on it. And of course as we all know, at that point the good player is off to the races.
Don't recall them using the MBR.
In a 9 Ball league I play in we use the MBR and the wing ball always goes. The sides are pretty big. I'm always bummed when the one goes in one finds the side as it kind of ruins my best laid plans.
