Went to the County fair yesterday. Walking through the challenges and games. And I remembered when I was a kid. Thinking of the tents that had a pool table. I really wasn't old enough to try it. Any stories on the carnival or fair tables?

yes I do remember

I do remember that 3 ball pool game at the carnival....
I did break and run all 3 balls, and I thought it was a pretty easy
thing to do for most pool players, but probably not easy at all
for the general public that does not play pool....

Pool at the fair.

Yes, I remember the three ball run Keither with ether alluded to. Tough on horrible equipment and usually with big cue ball. Probably used a crazy cue too. Also remember knocking a quarter resting on object ball. Just knock it out of circle around ob. Secret is shooting slow. Quarter hits slowing rolling cue and moves away. Most people shoot hard. One year we see Buddy Hall at the fair! Outside in a tent. She then remembers she had qualified to play the challenge thing with buddy through the old Busch Pool League. Plays and loses. Had pic made with Buddy and blown up to 8x10. Everyone asks who is in the picture? Your dad? Grandpa? No, just one of the greatest players ever. Even way back then Buddy was giving back to pool! Years later I had lunch with Buddy and Herman The German ( Herman Croix) at the short lived Tunica tourney and we laughed about the state fair thing.

The easiest way to get the quarter off, play a jump shot.
I used to bet on knocking the quarter off the table......
....and ran out of action.
