Do you shoot pool with a hat on?

No baseball cap, get down too low on the cue and blocks / causes aiming distractions. Might try a tam one of these days...
Oooh, if I ever become a hustler, I'll wear my tam to the hall. That should bring about some action. That and a good pair of suspenders. Although my tam is part of the most expensive outfit I've ever worn...

I like a hat with a wide brim to protect my face from the sun, and I don't like changing hats when I get to the pool room. Green is my favorite color, so I go with a green wide brim hat:

My walking stick is highly fashionable, but it's also practical: it converts to a pool cue.

I can already see the flood of jokes. But this is a serious question.

I see quite a few people shooting with headphones on and listening to music or whatever. This helps them get in a zone. I think most importantly it keeps the positive vibe and mentality up as well as drown out the noise from your belly aching opponents. Helps you concentrate, where everything just disappears around except for the table and balls. Keeps you from beating yourself up and fixating on bad shots.

So, as I glanced over at my sombrero and ball cap, I realized I have never tried shooting with these on my head. I feel like with a hat on it truly would be only me in the room, at the table playing my best game.

Do we have any hat players here?
Damn dude, are you trying to train an AI model or just like to ask dumb crap?

A cap can keep the sun out of your eyes. Same for any light source, especially ones above the table. I hate to answer such trivial questions but that is the gist of it.

I don't get hats. Not for fashion anyway.

I went through a 4 year "cowboy hat" phase, followed by a several year "panama hat" phase, before landing on something about ½ way in-between.

It is essentially impossible just to buy a hat and have it fit your personality, you have to migrate around for a while until it all clicks.

I have a few fedoras. Dating back to the 50's and 60's so a shorter brim. I have a full blown 2.5'' Indiana Jones Stetson.

I don't wear them. I have some Borsalinos if anyone wants to buy them let me know. Good deal.

I believe one of them is beaver and the other is rabbit. Brand new over $1K. Mine is from the desirable era of the 1950's from a shop in Italy. If you know Borsalino then you know Borsalino. I buy to sell for heavy profit. These aren't costume hats.

I am searching for a Panama hat so I can wear to the cigar lounge.

There's a company in Panama that makes them. Finely weaved but are thousands of $$$$.

For Panamas, make sure its good quality. A lot of foreigners will set up shop and exploit the locals. Pay them very little for hats costing thousands.

I’ve been wearing a proper hat for the last 25 years.
I think of it as a way to remember my father & godfather.

I call this leather stingy brim my “poolroom bum” hat….

Don’t normally wear a hat playing pool, but when the room was crowded, like anypocketanytime night, I’d keep it safe on my head from spills and squishes.
