Do you shoot pool with a hat on?

I like a hat with a wide brim to protect my face from the sun, and I don't like changing hats when I get to the pool room. Green is my favorite color, so I go with a green wide brim hat:

My walking stick is highly fashionable, but it's also practical: it converts to a pool cue.
How can you not dress like this when it looks so good.

Perimeter style lights without proper diffusers ruined pool halls. Made them brightly lit like a tanning salon in your face. I went from never wearing a hat outside of T-Ball when I was a kid, to wearing a hat sometimes because these lights are so bright and so bad.

Worst thing in pool since Diamond cushions.

Excellent post.

I hate the lights too.

In my 20's, on a hot summer day in a car, I couldn't wait to arrive to the poolhall and hide myself in that dark room. It was the only time I can sit back and relax. No rush. Just me and the table.

These damn bright lights suck. Now I get to the pool hall and go into a warm room because all the damn lights are on. I can transition from the inside with my sunglasses on.

I don't know where people got the idea these lights don't emit heat. I can sure feel it. Also, expect to sweat while playing under these new lights.

As others have mentioned, I also wear a baseball cap when playing pool, and I wear it everywhere pretty much as well, lol.

Sometimes I need to raise the brim a bit when getting down really low to aim for a long shot. But, it's no big deal. And, yeah, the ball cap helps to block out bright light.

I, too, have male pattern baldness, but for the past few years I've been shaving my head regularly, and it's a good look for me, so I've gotten over the insecurity of it all.

I 100% can't shoot with a ball cap on. Maybe I could with a hat with a brim that is about 50% the length. A balding 700ish local player plays with one like this;

I wear a hat for years…or in some tournaments I’ve worn a visor…bright lights bother me….a friend who is an expert in these things tells me my eyes are missing filters…why I still don’t need glasses even though I’m long retired.
I was a part time road player over the years….and naturally I neglected to introduce myself around action….my favorite road name in a few states was Caradine.

I've worn a baseball cap for as long as I can remember. Inside, outside, at the pool table, and dinner table. Heck I probably slept with my hat on. I came back to APA league from a long time off, and joined a random team, who turned out to be a great crew.

About 2 years into playing with that team I was in a tough match during playoffs. I sat down collecting my thoughts, removed my hat, and turned to look at my teammates. The girls had a shocked look on their faces, and the guys start laughing. I don't know what that was all about, and continue to play. When the match wraps up, I turn to my team and give them high fives, fist bumps, etc. As I approch the girls with shocked looks on their faces they say "OMG, you have no hair! YOU'RE BALD!"
