Ok so it's Mother's Day but last night I was out at my pool hall playing with my daughter who will be 19 in a couple weeks. It never really hit me till last night that I started playing pool when I was younger than she is now. I was 15. Made me feel old and proud all at the same time. She has gone from a Schmelke to a no name import to now a Meucci. But it didn't really hit me till last night. A little chip off the old block. I'm a proud dad. I hope she sticks with it. Anybody else got kids that have picked up on our passion?

i have a 7 year old a 4 year old and a 1 year old.....all like to shoot pool besides the 1year old, he like to eat the chalk! it helps that we have our own pool table or else i dont think my kids would show intrest.

I would agree. Have a 4 yr old girl. We started just rollng balls at about age 2. Now slow progression to using a cue. She is starting to get it it. I think it will be another 2 years before she get the hang of it. It is just about the best thing ever to have your child ask, Dad "wanta shoot some pool?"

It was my 18 year old step daughter who rekindled my interest in pool. My 7 year old is interested, but to hard headed to take any instruction yet. Don't know where he gets that from!

I have two daughters, 21 an 23 that started playing with me around 4 yrs ago. Just recently the older one has shown some real interest in 9 ball..she plays a couple nights on league..has a few first place trophys. They both enjoy playing scotch doubles. So some weekends we have some serious scotch doubles play at the house..

Child No, she is too busy support liberal causes.

Step Grandson, no because three don't give a hoot about Pool. The youngest one is a Sports Nut, and when he is TALL ENOUGH ( height requirement for entry) to come to the Pool Room, I can see him get into it.

The two oldest ones are interested in Girls, how to put on on a condom properly, Girls, and how to put on on A condom properly.

My 5 year old Daughter has her own custom "Pink" 2 piece cue that Roger Long made for her last year. She has the natural open and closed bridges and is able to hit a few balls from the rail. My 2 year old Boy, LOVES to play, but only lasts about 3 shots and he's off.

One of my old League Teammates and his daughter play Scotch Doubles in Vegas every year. I think this is about the 6th or 7th year in a row that they play together. I see the excitement on his face when he talks about her and the upcoming tournament.

Jerry...That is very cool I have never played any tournament pool with my son (he's almost 29, and can run a rack pretty easily), but I can see how that would be very cool. I've, of course, played pool with many times over the years (since he was about 6), but he never took the interest (and I wasn't about to force it on him, like some fathers do).

I have a 9 year old son who plays about 4 to 6 hours a day. When I first bought a table last year he just fell in love with the game. He runs around 4-6 balls on average and can play safety pretty well. But like Scott says it is not something I am going to force on him. I would never want to make him dislike a game that he loves dearly. I just enjoy watching it now while he is enjoying himself. Hopefully he sticks with it, but if not.....well I would love him if he never picked up a cue again!

I have two boys 18 and 16. The oldest is more into Xbox and basketball but can run em when he puts his mind to it. The youngest really took to the game and is better than I am. He plays on my VNEA team with me and has won quite a few tournaments. Lately his interest has gone down a little due to a new girlfriend but I think it will be something he will stay with. A lot of people don't want to shoot against him now and say they definitely don't want to see him in 2 years. :)

I have a 17 year old son that has his own cue but never plays..He is too busy playing his guitar(s) or video games....He actually pulls the spectator chair right next to the GCII pool table so he can use the table to put paper on.

My 10 year old daughter plays "sometimes" but it usually only last for a few minutes and she is wanting to do something else.

It does not bother me though...It is just not what they are into

Sometimes I wish I could play the guitar like my son does though.
