Doctor quits lucrative dental practice to create two thriving pool rooms

He's in his 40's...not too long in the tooth!

I wish more people would open pool rooms.

I would if I had a backer :D I've got 5 gold crowns, 2 snooker tables, balls, sticks and enough memorabilia to make it feel cozy. Unfortunately I also have a self run business, twins on the way, and very little time to spare :(

In late 70s when I started playing pool, I used to play with a Associate Dean of a Dental School in New Jersey. He was a good player. He was a nice Irish gentleman and I now don`t remember his name.

Since I live near the Bellevue location i'll chime in.

The place is very upscale and has fantastic tables/service/drinks. Table rates can be upwards of $18 an hour which is why it caters to the night-club and Microsoft crowd rather than pool players.

If you're cool dropping $50-60 for happy hour you can have a few beers (2) and a nice appetizer while playing for a while (not too long at those rates mind you).

The owner is a very personable guy and regularly spends time in the establishment ensuring it's run well or shooting pool, which is nice to see the owner being involved.
