Does a ideal example of"perfect form" exist?

I don't see how he could be considered to have perfect mechanics when his cue comes across the ball or up in the air and his bridge is too short.

Just to clarify, you are confusing text book mechanics with perfect mechanics. Perfect mechanics allow you to repeatedly hit a precise point on the cb on the line that you chose. Period. Buddy had that in spades.

Buddy does not have textbook mechanics. But perfect (almost) mechanics for Buddy. If someone else were to copy his mechanics, they might not be able to reliably hit anything. All top pros have perfect mechanics, or they wouldn't be able to do what they do. Few pros have mechanics worth emulating. Over hitting many, many balls over many, many hours, they have learned to do things "the hard way" consistently. Few ever do things "wrong" and get all the wrongs in their strokes repeatable every time. The pros have done that.

Having a textbook stroke does not mean you can or will win. Believing that the stroke you have can get you there will go a long ways to making what you have perfectly functional!

Watch people with similar builds and similar personalities to find a good starting point then work your ass off to build the perfect stroke for yourself.

Just my $.02!

George Sansouci (RIP). One of the best ball strikers in the game --- Ever. Beautiful stroke timing. It's like a singer having perfect pitch.

Fran thanks for your input. Is there a particular video to watch?
Thanks

Steve Mizerak (can't believe no one mentioned him yet). A close second for me is Howard Vickery; I've always thought he had a beautiful, straight stroke.
