Wondering if anyone has worked with the stuff? I had someone ask me about using some hide they had. I told them I don't do them But would try to find some info on It. Thanks

Greg

not trying to hijack, just some maybe useful idea/info

don't have any info on who uses it. But if anyone would want a direct line on some I'm sure I could get them as I know many alligator farmers around my area. Probably just have to make a phone call.

I do know this, that the most expensive alligator skin purses in the world out of France, they import the skins from vermilion parish right here in louisiana.

Side note, the best fabrige egg maker in the world is from right here in lafayette. He's the one that did the eggs for the movie oceans 11. I always wanted to go speak with him and learn how he does the inlays. That would be crazy a fabrige looking cue!

I'm in Florida, and Supposedly the guy took this hide himself, and wants a wrap done with it. Only thing is I know nothing about working with the stuff or if It's even feasible. I know that embossed leather print is, but I was trying to remember if i ever saw anyone use the real thing before. If I was to try it I would want to do It on My own dime and My own cue at first, so I'd be more the willing to pass on someone's contact info on to the guy, If they have experience in doing this kind of work. I already mentioned that more then likely it would not come cheap If they found someone to do it.

I saw that movie when it came out, good flick. That work on those eggs is very intricate, and the people that make them are definitely good at what they do. Seems like I watched a show a long time ago that showed someone making them.

Thanks, Greg

Chef Terry prefers his eggs scrambled or sunny side up.
Us flatlanders don't eat no fancy french named eggs.
Altho, I've been known to whip up a tasty sausage and chicken gumbo with cornbread muffins. Thats about as French as I get.

Another thing you flatlanders don't know is breakfast...cappachino, moccachino, frappachino, who the hell is Chino?....I like my bacon, grits and cook my eggs in bacon fat and have the biscuits ready....I'm sorry Mr. Chino I don't like your breakfast but I do like your pants!

screw chino and his $5 drinks:p,

I did one for a player in Charlotte NC. He purchased the hide in FL and had it cut to .020 at this place http://www.columbiaorgan.com/col/. They did an outstanding job on cutting the hide to the .020 thickness. I installed this wrap with no problems of any kind. Wish I had taken some pics when I had it here.
