Does Anyone Else Focus on the Break Like I do?

I'm not sure if any of you have heard of me as I'm mostly huge in the Midwest, but my name is John Von Auerbach. I currently have a 38 mph break.

Just wondering if anyone else out there focuses on the break as much as I do.

For the past 6 months I've been trying to increase the speed of my break through three different strategies:

1. Muscle Structure
2. Stroke Technique
3. Mind over matter

To increase my muscle structure I used a combination of diet, cardiovascular exercise, and developed my quick twitch muscle fiber using isometric weight lifting exercises. I stuck to a regimen of high protein meals including but not limited to: Eggs, Chicken, and Tuna. For supplementation I usually went with Yohimbe Bark extract or Shark Cartilage. I usually went everyother day on that, so to not overload.

Specifically for the explosion needed for a fast break, I trained my anterior deltoids daily, and my pectorals 3 times per week.

To increase my stamina which would allow me to make my 38 mph break throughout a tourney, I ran 3-5 miles 4 to 5 times per week at a pace of 7 minutes per mile.

Before my 6 months of training began, my break was timed at 29 mph. After only 6 months of focused training on my break speed, my break went up an incredible 9 mph.

If anyone is interested in my training techniques, I think I have a proven system that will get your break up in speed within 8-12 weeks.

I recently had a break in which the cue ball cracked into 3 pieces. No joke. It was literally an explosion of power that even I did not foresee.

Does anyone else break as hard as me? Problably not, but just wondering.

Here is my break recently on Fox Sports North on a feature they did on me.

I wasn't very impressed with how they portrayed me, it came off as making me look egotistical.
Other than making the 10, that break looked pretty standard to me. BTW, the video was posted by Iconofsin, who's a frequent AZ poster. Do you know him?. You wouldn't claim someone else's video as being yours would you?.:)

John Von Auerbach: 5 Steps to Impressing Me
Hello ladies,

Many of you probably already know me, I'm John Von Auerbach. You may have seen me in me in such fitness infomercials as TurboJam or CoreSecrets. I'm one of the testimonials in each commercial.

You ladies spend hours trying to impress people like myself, and you are usually clueless.

I'm here to help.

Here are the 5 steps on how to impress John Von Auerbach:

Step 1:
What I say is more important than what you have to say. Be a good listener.

Step 2:
Dress appropriately at the gym. No one wants to see a lady in a loose fitting looney tunes t-shirt. Tight = Right.

Step 3:
Be sure to always complement me on my gains. Nothing will make me want you more than making me feel huge.

Step 4:
If you have kids already, make sure they are fit. There is nothing that turns me off more than a Mom who lets their kids eat sugar cereals.

Step 5:
Spare before hair. If you are still fat, make sure to pay attention to your gut more than your hair. I don't care if your hair looks nice if you've got a huge muffin top.

If you look closely at the end of John's video clip, you can see a noticeable paunch. This is not the physique I would expect of a fitness guru. Maybe the John Von Auerbach in the fitness infomercials isn't the same as the one who started this thread?

Purdman:cool:

Compared to me, Earl couldn't break an egg!

I'm pretty sure that the guy breaking in that Youtube video is AZ's own "Icon of Sin" since he's the one that posted it, (no offence intended).I pm'ed him to find out if my suspicionsa are true. Can't wait for the answer.

Quick question for Bob Jewett and or Colin Colenso. Is it even possible to keep the cue ball on the table on a 39 mph break?. I read somewhere that anything faster than 32 mph and the cue ball is almost impossible to keep on the table.

EDIT: I found this on the net from Bob Jewett, (search key words "martial arts").

"The fastest cue ball reported (shot by a martial arts student)
was about 35MPH (15.6 meters/second). More typical break speeds
are around 20MPH."

At 38 MPH, that cue ball should probably have jumped upon the EXPLOSIVE contact with the apex ball (which it didn't).

That speed gun might need some recalibrating! ;)

Maybe he was gambling and had the radar gun pointed at his wallet.:D

Okay, okay, I found the real Youtube video of John Von Auerbach's 38 mph break here.

Cool video clip! This is what can happen to you when you eat too many eggs and shark cartilage...and overdo training your deltoids and pectorals. ;) :p
