I currently use a google chromebook and connect it to my tv via HDMI. I am wondering if anyone has experience using a raspberry PI? It's pretty cheap and small enough to leave sitting on my TV stand all the time. I want to hear if anyone is doing this and if it works seamlessly. Thanks.

I used to use Chromecast to stream my web browser to the TV which worked pretty well, but sometimes had lag depending on what your CPU was doing.

Now I use my PS4 web browser to watch tv.chalkysticks.com and it works pretty well. The PS4 can surprisingly use most sites.

I've built a couple Raspberry Pi setups, but instead chose to dedicate a Mac Mini to the TV. Great performance!

I cast from my Verizon Wireless Droid to my Amazon Fire TV to live stream & watch pool on my TV. My 5 & 7 year old boys love it. -Z-

If your smart enough to use a pi than your smart enough to sideload programs, through adb, on to a fire tv. fire tv has a simple remote is small and way more powerful than a pi. i don't use cable any more i just use amazon prime, netflix and kodi for all my viewing all through my fire tv.

As for streaming pool if you can watch an app on an android you can sideload it to fire tv.

What app are you trying to watch pool with?

I have an Android box that I use YouTube and UStream to watch pool. I take full advantage of YouTube subscriptions and the "Watch Later" function while browsing on a normal desktop.

Now, if only I could get a ChalkySticks Android app, or even a Kodi add-on, I'd be all set...
