He has a son named Frennie that plays about shortstop speed from what I hear. I believe Efren stressed education first with his children so they wouldn't have to struggle like he did when he was growing up. Frennie has a family of his own too; Efren also has 2 daughters but I'm not sure if they play at all.
On a sidenote, I read in an article somewhere that the times Efren actually taught Frennie he didn't give him any coaching on stroke, stance, etc. He would only correct him when he played a bad position route or pattern. Efren said that it was up to him to figure out his own stroke, and that he shouldn't copy someone else's.
I'm hoping JoeyInCali will chime in on this thread as he has more knowledge of Efren than anyone else I've known on the boards.
