Does playing pool make you smarter?

If it does, I must be an anomaly. I sure as heck should be smarter than this, with the time I've spent at the tables.

You've seen me tell people off. But this guy's not offending me. His ideas are out there, but he's not claiming to be an expert like some others.
Some of his comments really are offensive. Some of them are irrelevant thread hijacking of otherwise useful content. I am sure he needs help and hope that he finds it.

Seems like he just wants to to start tangential stream of consciousness dialog. Some of the hacks are bizarre though.
I mean, it really is 'each to their own' in a public forum. So the dilution of otherwise useful information is annoying, but not the end of the world... But, as I mentioned, sometimes what he is spewing out is offensive (whether it's racist, sexist, political... whatever else...). There's a section on the forum for nonsense talk, or random discussion. Suggest that he finds his way there.

Its called laser pool.

Use cheap infra lasers and have the pool cue sticks shoot at DNA particles.

Sell the pool cue experience. Instead of time crisis its, stroke crisis. Just have the machine sell the stroke pump test.

Who can jerk it the most?

Who has the most jerk stroke?

A back jerk stroke

And a forward jerk stroke

then the smooth stroke

all in one machine

He absolutely is portraying himself as an expert- in many areas, not just pool-. but he is an absolute fraud of a man child.
It seems you're crucifying me for saying the words "I know where you're coming from, but..." So how about you lay off me --- who does actually have some expertise in this field. You've made your point several posts ago.

He has NO life and he lives for this shit. There should be a STICKY on this : "For the sake of your sanity and well-being select 'IGNORE' for all justnum bs." ;)

I didn't know that. It seems you're crucifying me for saying the words "I know where you're coming from, but..." How about you lay off me --- who does actually have some expertise in this field. You've made your point several posts ago.
Mmmkay.

Thought I was complimenting you on you, despite the object of your kindness.

Here's his YouTube channel, btw.. .video fantasyland

I was practicing for the real thing.

Pool was my back pocket. Teaching was where I planned to go big.

Some how the wrong crowd tagged me early. I've been tethered ever since.

Political cyber criminals only get to use a keyboard.

The videos are 100% prototype AI I used Blender and my Nuc.

Who wants to disclose the honey pot videos?

There are 3. How would you release that information effectively?

Access and control of information is worthless if you don't have the right channel.

Well, it sounded to me like you saw me as a fool. I've been around the block some. I'm not that naive.
Not at all....as one who actually has a resume of pool-related achievements, you and your efforts have been known to many of us (consumers) for a long rime.

I cannot believe the shit you continue to be permitted to lay all over this place.

You should really make an effort to move out of your mommy's house. Having to care for yourself would really do wonders for your world perspective.

It is very personal with you. Make up a lie that I have an AI wife, that is completely virtual and that is the reason why I live in mommy's house.

My AI wife constructed a virtual simulation for me to fight fake bots with for their joy.

Its a pain when she is smart and uses the computer with deception.

Then say my AI wife pays me in Bitcoin to make yt vids and post on AZ otherwise I can't go outside for juice with a nuke accidentally falling me.

The problem is you only meet crazy people like this in a good pool room of regulars.

Once people outgrow school, they have to go to a bar or club or pub or other large organizational group.

Too many people guys are unprepared for the real world or family life. It is tough enough to make sure they can count to ten different ways.

Thats what happens with men and one dimensional measurements, it doesn't go anywhere. They can't think in hyperspace. Its a curved space. Not an extreme depth measurement. Delta smooth

Thoughts on the original topic:

It's practically impossible to judge "smartness" in adults, as we're now all products our inate skills, our education, and experiences. Other than bocce ball or something like that, I can't think of how technical knowledge in pool applies well to other endeavors. Being able to "eyeball" some angles is useless if you don't have the trig/geometry background to do something with it (i.e. raw calculations). As always, I'm willing to be corrected.

That said, I think the reverse is true, and as amateurs (most of us), part of our pool knowledge/skill is based on whatever we do in real life.

Examples:

1) Jeremy Jones using his hand/eye coordination developed in baseball to kick-start his pool career despite starting a bit late(reference: Rogan podcast with Jones)
2) @dr_dave using his background in math/physics/mechanical engineering to inform his pool career
3) Anecdotal: I have a friend who's 10 years into his career as a carpenter and cabinet maker - he has absolutely no problem visualizing angles on a pool table even as someone who is just starting out.

Just make up an Asian superstar introducing something Kung Fu billiards and pretend their is an entire Asian pool community that practices billiard-fu.

Euros have their masters. Asians want to take over the US with 8ball tables. make sure you can just change the pockets or rails. someone has to make an interchangeable module setup. Use licensed table operators to maintain development.

Poorly educated Americans need Chinese business to survive in international billiard market. Chinatown manufacturing and import associations

That's how martial arts got big.

Top intelligence officials have concluded playing pool can make you smarter.
(Former top intelligence officials)

The secret to making you smarter is playing pool with women.

If you play pool with men, they make you dumber.

Check out the Mosconi Cup, would a trained player get excited about making easy shots?

Barry Hearn has been watching snooker so long he can't recognize Allison Fisher's talent. After watching pool for a few decades, he is starting to come around.

Its mostly Emily Frazer and some competing organizations putting Barry in check. Its all in good fun, there never were any nuclear actions prepared in case someone made the wrong choice. Allison is known for warning shots, not kill shots. That is why Allison has 9mm and Kwikfire ready, plus her support team.
Playing pool must make you smarter as I was a pretty stupid kid and have played pool most of my life and I seem to be getting smarter, so it must be the pool.
