Does your local room offer a monthly membership?

The local pool room here offers a monthly membership, just wondering how many other rooms offer one?

I pay $140 per month for anytime membership. Or they have $100 per month for up to 7pm membership.

Hourly rates are
1 Player $7.00
2 Players $13.00
3 Players $16.00
4 or More Players $17.00

Sounds like the California Billiard Club. I was just up there last week. Excellent pool room. I was talking to the owner about the memberships and he said it's the only way to go. I can see the merits of it.

If the room can get a solid membership it provides a baseline income for the room and this allows the owner to keep things nice for the players. The equipment there was top notch in set up and condition. And I found it quite unusual that every set of balls I got each night were very recently cleaned and polished. I rarely get clean balls in a pool hall. Even the snooker table used to play golf had different cloth on it from the other 2 snooker tables. All the tables in the tournament area had good cloth with tight and uniform pockets.

Some of the monthly rates guys have posted are really cheap and even rates at the California Billiard Club are cheap if you use it enough. But the thing about monthly dues over $100 is that if you can get enough members that can pay that, you end up with a good group of regulars that do seem willing to spend money on food and beverage.

i wanted to start a small private club with this membership idea....maybe i will one day. i dont see why other people dont do it, its a consistant income and most people can pay their rent with it, everything else is profit.

I charge $60 per month 12:30 pm until 6:00 pm 7 days a week, or half price for Students. My room is Full Splice Billiards located in Lakewood, Washington.

Take care
