It wasn't that. It was the notched diamond in the point on pic 1. But I see the better picture a few posts up now. Thanks.

The thin line diamond. Distinctly different from the fat notched diamonds. When someone puts these in a resto they stick out like a sore thumb.

My guess would be Steve Klein. Butt sleeve is too long for a Bushka. Also, to my knowledge, George did not use 2 mm mother of pearl dots as these appear to be; he tended to use 3 mm.

George used different lengths in the butt sleeve. And those look like 3mm dots to me.

On second look, I believe you're right, those do appear to be 3mm dots.

But that butt sleeve appears to be 3 inches, assuming the butt plate is 1.5. I believe the vast majority of George's butt sleeves were shorter than that.

You've seen Steve's Texas George cues... stop by the booth at SBE... see some others... :)

Well, I guess when doing a tribute, you could go with the vast majority with say an average 2-2 1/2" butt sleeve. However, I was just throwing the point out there, 3" does not rule a cue out obviously.

There is some more examples I could give, (such as that latest find posted on AZ of the butt sleeve with maple windows, notched diamonds, and half moon inlays that had a 3" butt sleeve), but lets throw this one out there. How long would you say the butt sleeve in the middle cue is of this photo Kevin (I believe) had posted from a cue show he attended.

The cue in the middle, which looks brand new, or refinished with a new wrap, definitely has a longer than typical butt sleeve for a Bushka, about 3 inches. Very rare, for a Balabushka. Nothing is 100%, but it is longer than the vast majority of his butt sleeves. When deciding on whether a cue is a genuine Bushka or not, the butt sleeve is one of the first things I look at. On this one, I suspect when George put something extra like that white ring in the sleeve, he might make it a bit longer than his typical. I have yet to see one with just inlays or plain, that is longer than 2 1/2 inches.

By the way, the other two Bushkas in the picture have butt sleeves of approximately 2 1/2 inches.

Maybe we need to bring sexy back...

Just a bit more...

Again, there was one recently posted on AZ for sale (pic below). I can throw some more out there btw, without the white ring design in the butt sleeve. But yes, you can say the majority of his cues have a shorter butt sleeve. But knowing they exist, would knida make it useless in determining whether a cue is original.
