For many of you old timers, you would remember Don Hoppe.
Don owned the Old Galaxy Biliards in San Antonio TX, the site for many good weekly tournaments and some memorable Texas Express tournaments.
I recieved a call that Don had passed away Sunday afternoon and just wanted to notify as many as possible. Don was a good guy and never minded spending some dough to promote the game.

Galaxy Billiards was my anchor room. For the Southwest Tour, the McDermott National 9-Ball Tour, and the National 9-Ball Tour.
Where most rooms would do our events once a year, Don Hoppe insisted on 3 events a year. He loved pool and pool players. His legendary parties with Fats, Mosconi, Lassiter, Cowboy, Puckett, etc., will be treasured memories for many that were in attendance. A true promoter and sponsor of Texas pool.
 
I worked with Don for 7 years managing Galaxy Billiards. He loved action and the game.

He was my friend and he will be missed.
