cut to after reno, kaplan calls me on my cell, "bernie,what the hell? treudeau didn't pay?" i said no, man,he said would you go "on the record" for me and do an interview, about your thoughts on what is going on? i jumped at the chance , and we did the interview via cell phone,(i was actually at my cigar store smoking whilst giving this interview) anyhow, he thanked me and i thanked him and in mid december keep your eye out for, the entire reno scam and me,p.s. micheal kaplan HATES deno and kevin, so the article is gonna be a DUZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't get too excited about it Bernie. I did an hour interview a while ago for the business section of our local paper on the declining real-estate market. When it came out it was a nice article but he used like one quote from me and a few by some other people, that's about it, the rest was his opinion, very wrong by the way.

It can be very risky giving interviews. Many articles like that depending how they write it, can often make you look like an idiot. I was glad he didn't use what I said. I worried about it from the moment he left till the article came out, even to the point to talking to my lawyer. I had made some comments about a developer who I said got greedy, had been over paying for land and was now stuck with town houses he can't give away, pretty much insulting the guy. By the way, my lawyer told me to never talk to any reporters, you have no control.

I have a friend who has a 24 hour dinner. A reporter came there doing a story on late night night life and people, the kind you find in a dinner at 4 in the morning. The owner made him welcome and he stayed for a few hours talking to the customers. My friend was all excited to see the story on his dinner. Well, when the story came out you should have read it. He described the diner as run down near a rail road and when the train went by your coffee cup might vibrate off the table.

He made fun of the way the waitress looked, describing her as a cross between Roseanne and Ralph Kramden.
He insulted the customers he interviewed like they were a bunch of lost soles with no where to go or no home so to speak. He even described one customer he actually named as jobless waiting to see what the sunrise would bring him. Bottom line, never talk to a reporter, they are all opportunistic A$$Holes.

The same thing happened to me in Denver many years ago.

The reporter misquoted me on about everything I said.

We were in a pool room and I said nothing but nice things about the place and the owner. It made it sound as if I mocked the owners every move. It took alittle convincing that I didn't say some of the things and the owner finally believed me, but, he was HOT at me for a period.

About a month later, I saw the same reporter at a Bronco game and popped him right in the mouth. I was steaming hot about the whole thing. It ended up costing me a little, but it was worth it.

NO worries there. Don't really think he needs a reporters help, Bernie does a fine job all by himself. Don't think there really is much doubt.....IF he opens his mouth..it's over.
