A couple of the curiosities I’ve picked-up along the way… Trash or treasure?
Possibly, even if it’s not a Szam (could very well be a Szam) what ever it is, it’s good. Hopefully straight.Szamboti shaft
Cool! How about the Butt?Szamboti shaft
What makes it a treasure isn’t really who made it… The question is did it belong to the legendary Luther “Wimpy“ Lassiter? As for the butt, first guess would be a late 60's Rambow but would love to have more pics of the butt cap. I've never seen a Rambow with that style cap before.
The joint superficially looks like a WWII joint but seems too long.
The personalization on the forearm looks like neither Rambow's writing nor Kimmel's
Yes, the hardware is wrong for Schon. The ring is also wider than on an r-series shaft.I could be wrong, but after 40 yrs of being around cues, every Schon shaft I've seen has the black joint material extended down to the brass nipple so no wood could be seen below black ring. And the fact no name stamp. But they probably had exceptions.
yeah the odds of that are pretty much the same as winning the lottery. What makes it a treasure isn’t really who made it… The question is did it belong to the legendary Luther “Wimpy“ Lassiter?
