Many "hacks" are actually from re-using passwords on several accounts and having one that is with a company that has weaker security get stolen. Then they just try your account and password on everything they can think of to see what works. So if you use the same account and password on Bank of America, YouTube and Bill's Fishin' Supplies and Hooch Sales, and all of a sudden your bank and YouTube accounts are cracked, not hard to see where the weak link was LOL
The length or complexity of the PW does not matter much if they can get it along with the hash from some other site.
From the sound of things though the Dr may have fallen for a fake link or something similar.

It's not so much your message but your delivery needs to be tweeked...jmo.

Companies with good privacy controls don't store your password. If you ever request to reset your password and they send you the old one, NEVER use that password for anything. Most companies today store a hashed version of your password. All they can do is re-hash your password entry and see if it creates the same hashed code.

, He’s suppose to be better at hacking but I bet you could give him the 5 ball at your game. We are all specialists at something. No shame in getting hacked, those guys are good at what they do. Just glad you could recover and repair what ever damage was done. Customer service and the internet don’t go hand in hand.
Personally I liked pre-internet world better. But I’m old and ain’t down with all this socials.

I think it's treated like a sport by some of these guys. They do it just to hone their skills. They probably learned how from YouTube.

I got it the first time around but many people won't. Google works hard to hide their collective bias.
