I was watching Dr. Dave's videos that deal with front hand, back hand, and parallel english. While I was at the pool hall last night I was giving the front hand and back hand a work out. All these years I've been using parallel......at least I feel that I have. Anyway, I set up some straight in shots and did quite a few tests with each type and I find, for myself, the front hand works best for me. With the parallel and back hand I honestly couldn't see a difference in the deflection and subsequent throwing of the object ball. The front hand worked really well though. It felt really strange pivoting my bridge hand like that but I'm going to slowly work this into my arsenal.
Thanks for the videos, I've read a lot about these but never really saw them until yesterday.

Let me note that I was pocketing the balls with parallel but it's because I'm accustomed to adjusting for it. The front hand seems safer though.
