yea, i heard yáll slipped through Gate City Billiards while Scott Lee was here. and yáll didn't call us?
Lee Brett will be here in 2 weeks, if you want to swing it back through.

I hear there's a bonus class being offered for a small nominal fee teaching you how to slip into an unsuspecting females hotel room. Of course, to give more lessons obviously!

Here's the real rip...LOL If CW is such a great "coach to the pros" how come Shanelle Lorrain still can't make three balls?

Lack of talent and/or effort on her part. Same reason that some of your's or any other instructor's students still can't make three balls after lessons with you either. But you already knew that argument doesn't hold water and are just busting chops for laughs of course. If your argument did hold water, then this one would too: If you are such a great coach, then how come you haven't even coached yourself into being a great player, never mind the students? :grin-square:

ok, let's dance -

because there's more $$$$$ in TEACHING, than PLAYING.

why do you think CW is hitting the road?

That's an easy question to answer. Teaching and playing are two different skill sets. I will guarantee you that if you gave me a month with Shanelle, she would be competitive. I disagree that it's a lack of talent or effort. If you don't know how or what to practice, it's difficult to get better. I've coached players to national championships. I think that speaks for itself.

I agree completely.

Now you just contradicted yourself. You can't have it both ways. You insinuate that you aren't a great player because that isn't your skill set (even though you believe that you have a fantastic coach--you). But yet you don't feel the same can be true for anyone else. In Shanelle's case it has to be because of poor coaching and can't possibly be because she just lacks the skill set like you do. I hope you see how contradictory that is. You aren't the only one that is seriously hindered by their talent, nor are you the only one that lacks the ambition to put in the amount of practice it takes to fully realize whatever potential that you do have.

I have news for you. Shanelle could indeed just lack the talent (or that skill set as you put it) and/or the desire to put in the necessary effort. It is also possible that she has a great skill set for coaching even though she lacks in the skill set for playing. We don't know yet on that one because she hasn't done any coaching that I know of.

I get it though. To get people enthusiastic about taking lessons, which is your livelihood, you have to feed into the illusion and attempt to make everyone believe they have the talent to be a great player (or else they probably wouldn't want to bother with any lessons). It simply isn't true though. Even though you won't admit that it could possibly apply to anyone else besides just you, some people just don't have the motivation or the skill set to be very good.

Can you beat Shanelle?

2 weeks ago, Scott stayed with Pinky and I for 3 days. As captain of my UPA team, I chose to sit out (I would have exceeded the max allowable) and have him play in my place. Pink wanted to put a wig and makeup on him and insert him ranked as a 2. Seriousy ;)

I pulled Scott to the side and discussed. He and I insisted he would play as a 10 (the Rocket is a 9 in UPA). So his match comes up, he's playing a 4. Scott has to go to a million, and the 4 has to go to 2 in 8B.

After the 1st shot by the 4, Scott starts graciously giving him some valuable tips. Scott got to his million. Shut out. The 4 walked out a better player with a huge grin. The packed pool hall was enthralled with all he did that night to help many (for free).

Yes, Scott expresses some strong opinions. He spends 40 weeks/yr on the road. And with his 4 decades of rubbing all pool elbows, combined with us spending every waking hour with him for 3+ days straight, he's got my attention.

Yes Satori, he can play a little, even though he plays little. He could give Shanelle (no disrespect to her) the 3 out. I'd empty out on the rail. Ask Randyg...

I'd have to bet on Shanelle there.
