Ok ...I finished my 100 racks, but from now on I’m using all six pockets. This one pocket exercise was just a bit too brutal for me.

:p

just a late night attempt at humor, even I hardly get it now :)

I finished my last three rounds yesterday...

Round #8: 10 9 10 0 20 1 6 6 2 6 = 68
Round #9: 10 9 2 20 7 1 -1 3 20 7 = 78
Round #10: 5 20 4 16 5 8 9 3 20 5 = 95

Ten round total = 864

ala Cub fans: "Next year!"

I'm going to do my last 5 rounds right now. Be back in a few hours to post em up. Watching the skins game got my blood flowing again.

Sorry, I didn't get a chance tonight but at least it wasn't because of the cold. Kids this time. Well, maybe tomorrow, we'll see.

Good job Jeff. We both have something to shoot for next year. I, unfortunately, am not going to be able to complete my round 2 due to unexpected time fillers around New Years :( We'll be up there with the rest of 'em next year!

I was really hoping to participate in this, but having to work the poolhall and not realizing the post until right before the holidays, I never got the chance to get anything going. Next year, I'll definately get some time to participate.

The Drivermaker Holiday Invitational is officially over. There are no winners and losers that participated and I hope everyone who did play enjoyed the challenge which the game provides. It definitely gives an opportunity to see what your strengths and weaknesses are and a good indication of what you need to work on in order to improve.

If anybody lost, I think it's those that didn't attempt playing at all. It's a great game to practice and will show you, with a certain degree of accuracy, where you stand in the whole scheme of things in playing ability based on the ranking system. For those that did try a few racks without posting their score, if you think that you're a lot better than the scores and scoring system indicate, hey...you're NOT. It's an eye opener and reflects the reality of the state of your game. If you haven't copied the official rules, please do and continue throughout the year, not only for a fun way to play but also to improve.

I do have to give kudos to Willee for promoting this after I originally posted the rules and taking it as far as it got. Great job Willee and some pretty sporty shooting yourself.

TheGoldenChild is one shootin' sumbitch. All I can say is, 1,886 is one hell of a score and a high of 196 is just SUPER. If any of you that did or didn't participate want to find out how good it is, just try to beat it.
GoldenChild does win a stamp for his good showing and a brand new Szamboti cue. (Part of that last sentence is true and part isn't) However, if you PM me with your real name and address, I'll send your winnings out to you. (Hey..you gotta give me an A+ for still trying to find out)

Otherwise, see you all next year and we'll try it again. Take her down Mike...we'z outta here.

Mike,
Don't take it down quite yet. Because of your server problems I haven't collated the scores yet (I would have done it Tuesday, but couldn't access the site). Hopefully this weekend (or next Tuesday).

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Drivermaker and Willie for making this thing happen, it's an accurate way to gauge are skills amongst each other and a fun game on top of that, hopefully now that it's done Jenn will post her scores for us to all see. Thanks again you guys.

This got me practicing regularly for the first time in forever. Thanks to Willie and Drivermaker for making it happen. The internet really can improve your game! Whenever I felt like not doing a session I remembered the promise from Drivermaker http://www.azbilliards.com/vbulletin/upload/showpost.php?p=84839&postcount=2 .Kind of gave me an image of Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) in Pulp Fiction giving the “great vengeance and furious anger” speech to Brad.

Before we leave this thread, I'd like to suggest we players use the results we got to help us improve our games. Let's get some more value out of this, if we can. Maybe we could discuss our successes and our not-so-good results, thus helping us all get better.

For example, while looking at everyone's numbers, it seems that there are a lot of 10's. I know I screwed up my shape getting on the first rotation ball many times, resulting in a lot of 10s. Is there some thought/action that helps a player to make the transition from the 10th call shot to the first rotation shot?

Also, I'd like to know how GoldenChild thinks when he's shooting 19s and 20s, if he's be so kind as to shed some light on the subject.
