Drop pocket Diamond Pro-Am?

From the Diamond web site, it looks like the Pro-Am is ball return only. I wish there was a drop pocket version. Would this require a lot of re-engineering on the Pro-Am (legs, frame, rails, etc), or would a drop pocket version be easy to create?

Maybe you should get a the Professional, they have them now with legs similiar to the proam.

Fantastic tip, I've never seen one.

Does anyone have a link to a picture of one?

The ProAm series of Diamond tables can't be converted to drop pockets, sorry, but with the ball return system designed in it...why would you ever want drop pockets?

Drop pockets save the back from bending over so much from racking And grabbing the cue ball from the ball box on every scratch. At the poolhall I go to we are all lazy we kick at balls instead of using a bridge that way we can't be belly hooked.

1. Drop pockets are much easier on my back.
2. IMHO the table would look much better without the big box underneath.

I really like the Pro-am features - hidden leg levelers and slate levelers, one piece slate installed at the factory, short installation time, etc. I also like the appearance (minus the box) much better than the Diamond "Home" series tables. I just don't want the ball return.

If it cant be converted to drop how about a modified drop like english snooker pockets. Sorta like a mini ball return to hold 3-4 balls in each pocket ie.. a Riley table...I havent looked hard a diamond table to think how to modify one just in idea.

Do they play for $ there?;) :D

Why can't you just stick a piece of soft foam in the ball return at each pocket thats big enough not to slide down the tube, unless the pocket won't hold many balls. It would be easy to try one pocket to see how many balls it will hold.

I wish we could trade I have the 9 foot Diamond pro in my avatar and would love the ball return.

I know, but buying a 5k table and then stuffing rags in the pockets seems a little ridiculous - and the ball return box is still hanging down there. Better (for me) is to buy something closer to what I want to begin with. I've gotten surprisingly consistent advice, and I'm pretty well settled on a Diamond Pro. I like how they play and I like how they look.

Thanks for all the helpful comments!

Exactly. I have a Diamond Pro and wish I had a ball return on it. It is a pain with drop pocket when there is only one person playing. For me that is most of the time and it seems that I am walking around the table grabbing the balls out of the pockets more than playing. Be fortunate for the ball returns.

Diamond has a ball return system for the Professional model.
