dufferin cue

And ya know what, just because I need to remember the members name, I can't.

But he is from the Toronto area and bought out Dufferin's Stock when they closed shop.

If anyone would know, it would be him. I was lucky and scored heavy when one of our Halls closed. I got all the bent ones and ones that needed ferrules.

Some of them are in very sweet condition despite age and obvious abuse. Points are pretty darn even on some.

I will try to remember his name or go thru some old emails. If not, ask in the Cue Maker Forum as he does read that Forum. Good guy to deal with and would also sell you some of the New/Old Stock that were definitely made in Canada.

At the last time that I spoke with him, via email, he even had some ebony fronts. And shafts, he has shafts. So likely could get a decent deal on an ebony Duff or other quality wood and some shafts. I bought a bunch of decent ash shafts from him a while ago.

Other than that, some have Red Maple Leaf dots and others have Green ones. And I know that in itself isn't much help, other than if the Chinese mades are different in that respect in any way.

I think I've heard this one before, but I'll play along.

I give up, how can you tell if a Dufferin cue was made in Canada?

Ask it a question, and if it adds "eh" at the end of the sentence.... its Canadian.

The very round bumpers on the bottom of the cue, indicate Made in China. The tapered bumper was used on the cues made in Canada. The ones from China will warp pretty well in a short time span.
