Dynasphere tungsten quick review

Was iffy about making the purchase, yet I did. These balls look and feel WAY better than any online picture I found. Packaging is way better than I expected for 100 bucks. Putting a new 6 foot olhausen together as I choose and have time - will let you know how they play in a week or so.

I'm betting you will like them. I have bought four sets, gave one to my son. I can't wear them out.

Might be confusing names but if the tungsten set is the lowest priced set with some odd colored balls, I had something weird happen. I thought I was fine with the colors and the balls hit great like far higher priced balls I have owned in the past. I was so pleased I bought the next set up with the conventionally colored balls.

I had played with the odd colored balls for weeks. As soon as I broke the standard colored balls after playing with the odd colored balls a few hours
I felt the tension in my head relax, tension I didn't know existed! No more odd colored balls for me. I'll pay a little more for conventionally colored balls.

I will say that the dynasphere balls appear to be high quality balls although made in china. Some advertising has claimed made in belgium, other ad's claim made in china with close oversight from belgium. Somebody has damned good eyes if they can see from belgium to china.

Lost my home table to Hurricane Ida so I sold all of my dynasphere balls. Probably wouldn't have bought the first set without a false made in belgium claim which I am admittedly still a bit grumpy about. I don't like flat lies in advertising. Best I recall that was a US distributer that did that but a lot has happened since then, I may be mistaken about who it was.

Anyway, good balls for the price, maybe even great balls for the price. I would step up to the bronze I believe they are called to get conventional colors.

Thx for sharing. I’ve always been a traditionalist about color, yet thought I might get out of my comfort zone.
The box does say made in china but also makes multiple references to Belgium.
Sorry to hear about that hurricane loss.

Thanks for the kind words, the loss is getting close to two years ago now, ancient history!

The company makes no effort to confuse where the balls are made or the machinery the balls are made with. I know they bought all of the machinery in one purchase, maybe the building too.

The old balls made there by another company aren't great however with new quality controls put in place and I assume new staff they seem to have taken care of any issues with balls produced with that equipment. Some balls are tested on site, some are shipped to belgium for testing. A surprisingly high percentage of their balls are tested or were when I checked on things. At least according to claims which I have no reason to doubt.

I might find myself dealing with this company again if I get a pool table or want a personal set of balls and there continues to be no choice of quality balls made in the USA.

The first few runs of Cyclop balls did have some issues, mostly cueball related. This was soon fixed and they were fine after that. I've played with Cyclop balls a few times and they played/rolled fine. D'spheres are chek'd both at the factory and in Belgium.

I really like my Dynaspheres bronze set with the traditional colors and I really like they use the same great resin on all of their ball sets (no upgraded marketing schemes here).

FYI, I am trying to put together a Dynaspheres Rhodium cue ball purchase if anyone is interested. Stay tuned!

yep, one reason why I want to get the Rhodium cue ball.
The Bronze replacements, the Vanadium, come with a cb with two black triangles. Don't know if its avail. by itself or not. Personally, i see 'marked/dotted' cueballs as a gimmick with 'some' utility for streams. I've tried playing with various measel-style cb's and much prefer good ol solid white models. The novelty of marked balls wears away much faster than the smoking hole in your wallet. ;)

Yeah, I like a plain cue ball, preferably one matched to the set. The measles ball rolls long. I have read that there is a different process used to finish them than regular balls. Before I buy other high dollar cue balls I want to hit with them or at least get a trustworthy review.

From my Rhodium cue ball (6 black triangles) bulk buy for sale post:

I played with one of these yesterday on 6 month old Simonis 860 cloth on a league Valley table. They play very well, feeling exactly like my Dynaspheres Bronze set (they advertise that all of their balls are the same resin formula) and I really like the look of the black triangles giving subtle english and speed feedback.

Are they Duramith?
Who are you asking? When I tried playing with the following Aramith Tournament Duramith cue ball on the same 860 league tables mentioned above from a tournament set, I noticed it was slower than red circle and other cue balls I played with:

The Dynaspheres cue balls play very similar to a red circle speed.
