Just wondering about the big price difference compared to if you buy it direct from McD or from some dealers from ebay. My first one, I bought straight from the McD website and I paid sticker price on it. I love the feel and hit of that cue so then I started venturing for a few more on ebay. I bought a couple more McD's but I've been getting them like almost below sticker price. I mean a $569.00 sticker price and I payed $202 plus lets say a $15 s&h fee. I've played with a couple and and they're just fine. I don't really get it, what gives?

you may want to look into this, but the new McD's have a lifetime warranty on the wrap and warpage, not sure if buying it from a 3rd party online will qualify for that warranty.

Just like this one I got, The McD Assasin, black leather skin wrap and 314-2 shaft, I got it for $280 and that includes shipping. The butt was so fancy that what I did, I put a regular shaft, kept the 314-2 and some buddy of mine said he'll buy it for $160.00. I think we bought came out good.
Dealers are clearancing this latley due taxes and the economy. That may have something to do with it. But also remember in retail an "A" mark is 50% and a "B" mark is 40%. Meaning dealer cost is either 50 or 40% of suggested retail list price. 50% of $500 = $250. dealer cost. Plus most ebayers do make a few bucks on shipping as well. Also they are additional discounts for quanity ordered from the manufacture. If the maker is discontinuing a model they may sell a $500 cue list to a dealer for $125 just to move them. So its possible for a $500 list cue to actually cost a dealer $200 or less wholesale.

I bought a D-606, one of the limited edition retro cues, which closely resembles my dads trusty D6, and it plays really well. I paid 180, plus 10 for shipping off of ebay, and I believe it retails for 449. No complaints at all with the stick. However, although the person claimed to be an authorized dealer, I didn't receive any paperwork or warranty info, so I don't know how to go about registering it to take advantage of the various maintenance services McDermott provides. Love the cue though, the leather wrap looks good, the finish is nice, hits true, all in all a great shooter for the money.

Can't afford those high end cues and plus these McDs are working for me anyway. Can't complain. (Maybe one of these days, I'll win one out of our Raffles Department!!!)

I?m getting 2 Ebay McD that should arrive in a couple of days. ?m going to try them out but only so I can get a feel for McD cues, will sell them locally. I?m more in to Custom cues but I saw one (M89A) that I really liked and I havn?t played (just tried some very briefly) with a McD before so I thought I should try them out before paying big bucks to buy that one.
This guy says he?s a Mcdermott dealer so I?m hoping that I get some papers on them.
I can post some rewiev here when I get them If you like.

The sheer amount of McDermotts on ebay might have something to do with it as well. I typed in "mcdermott cue" in the search box, and over 800 cues came up, well over 18 pages. I typed in "schon cue" and 48 results came up, 99 if you include "buy it now" and just one page. Of those 48 schon cues, I'd say over 3/4's of the results weren't even schon cues, but joint protectors, shafts, tip tools that happen to work on schon tips, various cues that have a schon type joint, chalk for schon cues, etc.
McDermott must be putting out a s-load of cues, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Mines well-made, seems like it's built to last. Of course there's a lot of cheaper McD's I wouldn't consider, the lower end models and those "star" cues. But I suppose you could build mass production cues, know what you're doing, make sure the quality control is there, just as easily as you could be a custom cue maker, making a very limited number of cues, hand making them one at a time, and essentially building junk. Custom cues, "hand-made one at a time" aren't necessarily better. You'd be surprised at the fit and finnish of some of these customs, not to mention the fact that it didn't come close to the dimensions/specs you ordered and agreed upon, which is pretty much why you want a custom in the first place. 2 cents.

It will ask you where you purchased it and it must be new and from an authorized dealer. You can click on the link in the above webpage and it will explain the warranty and provide a link to a list of authorized dealers, or you can call them and ask them if a particular seller is authorized.
