Earl and Meucci again..

The gadgets he has worn I didnt understand myself as he never wore anything like that before when he had his A game.I believe that he was trying anything and everything and it came down to piece of mind and focusing on the job at hand and thats winning.

Lisa,

Please remind Earl about his 5th US Open title in 2000 when the only thing he used was a black glove. I don't understand all of the "gadgets" he's using now either and maybe he can eliminate that stuff and go back to what worked so well in his 5th US Open victory. I was there at the Open that week and it was like electricity when he came in the room. Earl never lost his cool and nobody got more than 7 games against him the whole week. He played unbelievable and he really had it together.

not in Earls case he played with the cues just like they were sold off the shelf...

According to my source, which is Earl himself when asked in a lesson I had with him, he had custom shafts that he played with. So does Johnny (and he's my source on that) and so does pretty much any other pro playing with a less than great cue. The sponsors do not particularly care as long as they use the butt of their cue. They know that their shafts are crap, and wouldn't want their players having to compromise their game by playing with that fiberglass/wood core junk.
Good luck with Meucci, Earl.

Thanks for the info Lisa, it's allways good to read about Earl. When Earl was on his game, he made 9 ball look so easy, I started playing pool after watching Earl on T.V. I really hope he gets back to winning again and we can watch a master makeing a game into an artform. Hope Earl snapps off the Derby City 9 ball this year, because I will be right there watching. Go Earl.

Go earl..............

Yaay! for Earl. He's always been my favorite. Particularly since I'm also a Strickland, and my family is originally from North Carolina also. I'm not a slouch on the table, but I wish my skill level matched the namesake.
