Earl and the Generation tournament

Anyone know why Earl is not playing in the tournament?
From what I know it was an invitational and he was not invited. It's a shame as it is in his backyard.

Possibly because his mouth outshines his playing ability these days? Misunderstood or not, I used to be an Earl fan, but his antics have become old.

a load of crap. he's still one of the best in the world regardless of whether he was invited to this tournament or not.

Tap,Tap,and TAP.That is exactly why!!His antics at last years Mosconi cup probably was the final straw for alot of his fans and fellow pro players.Johnny Archer was right when he said "that is the only way you can win Earl,is to shark someone".

Looks like Johnny had an unfortunate incident against Ronnie Wiseman yesterday when the referee had to give Johnny a warning for sharking.

You'd be surprised what some players will do to get a win. It's not just restricted to Earl Strickland or Johnny Archer. They all do it from time to time. Some people call it a "move," and others call it a desire to "win at all costs."

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with that statement!

Sounds like Archer may be guilty of sharking:

Archer / Wiseman : Generation Pool ESPN Match
Just got back from watching the TV matches in Charlotte.

(Wiseman wins 7-to-6)

The Wiseman/Archer match was really intense with a lot of sharking from Archer.

Ronnie is one player that will not put up with someone trying to shark him.

Someone in the audience asked Steve Tipton why Earl Strickland was not at the tournament. Steve said that due to previous episodes with Earl involving his well known antics that he "would never be invited back to any of their tournamants".

He said that before-almost those exact words, and then IIRC they inducted him into the HOF and he was back in the tourny.
