Earl being EARL!!

When Earl is in focus of the game, not the crouwd or the other player, there is no one I enjoy watching as much as Earl. He shoots quick, thinks fast, makes some incredible shots along the way.

When he's being an ass, I turn it off. All that talent. Give it to some young hard practicing teen that won't throw it away. Johnnyt

Strickland is a multiple winner of the prestigious Player of the Year Award and his career highlights include five wins at the U.S. Open Nine-ball Championships (more than any other professional pool player worldwide), and the WPA World Nine-ball Championships. Strickland is the only WPA World Nine-ball Champion ever to win the event in consecutive years.

I really don't think he has "thrown his talent away"!

I don't think Johnnyt meant to imply that Earl has thrown his talent away and is now an official 'has-been' - but that he's thrown away alot of matches and championships because of his attitude - not to mention he's tarnished his reputation in many of people's eyes. People who play and really understand pool can see Earl has the million dollar stroke and the shot making abilities that most people can only dream of having, but to everyone else he's a whiney, rude, and classless player.

We all know Earl is one of the all time greats, and he has a resume that will probably not be matched in a long time, but can you imagine how MANY MORE championships he would have to his name if he had a normal temper and demeanor?? IMO the list that you put down would probably be twice as long!

I can proudly say I'm a big fan of Earl, but from time to time he's like the Mike Tyson of pool, but not as violent :p

yea.... I would say a more edgy John McEnroe of pool lol

I prefer Earl's older shorter stroke and being without gloves and gimmicks. Just perfect!
Does anyone know what made him change to much longer bridge length that he uses nowdays? Yes, I know he's a perfectionist...

These are fantastic to watch. I wouldn't go as far as to say the best earl ever as he isn't quite perfect, but he does run out a ton and make some beautiful shots

Check out the comment on this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1pjv_JlgwQ

Is the goof with the AlTeRnAtInG CaPs and retarded "first!" comment maybe Donny Mills? He's supposed to own a car dealership in florida. I hope it's not, I can't imagine a grown man with his own business posting like that :/

What are you talking about? I'm lost...

I don't think he's thrown his talent away the last few years. I think it's mental illness and he has been robbed of his talent the last few years.

Yeah, sorry about that, someone else set me straight... there's a comment under one of those videos by a guy named "DaDeCoUnTyChEvY" ... I thought to myself "sounds like someone who owns a car lot... in dade county... which is in florida. And is a pool fan. Must be Donny Mills!"

I totally jumped to conclusions, looks like dade county is pretty far from you, Donny. Just a weird coincidence. I apologize, I get annoyed when I see people write those "First!!!" posts, and I start flaming away. Hope you're able to make that game with Rodney (or whoever else steps up).

Heard pros say that Earl was only pro they ever saw able to BLOW OUT other top pros consistently

This video is awesome.earl plays extremely well hitting all the spots.never really saw him lose shape often.he was also catching every break as far as little rotations of the cb when he coulda been hooked.basically earl is the best.

I prefer this stroke too. I have been practicing with a shorter stroke for a month or so now just on a whim, so it's nice to see Earl playing so good with a compact stroke.

His stroke in the video is pretty close to what I'm doing now - except the part where all the balls go in!
