Earl-Bustamante

Didn't Earl have a valid point though? When he said that with the way the format is, when a player lands in his position that he did, they have to play 7 matches in one day, yesterday, then get up and play at noon the next day.
I can kind of see his point.

If I'm not mistaken, Earl played 5 matches yesterday, not 7.

Earl just never had a chance from what I saw, though I had a choppy coverage.

It came down to breaks. Busta broke well and Earl broke dry. Anyone have actual break stats?

When Earl got on early he looked better than Busta, but Busta got 70% of the rolls today I thought. He took advantage of it.

Dissappointed Earl didn't get more chances.

Perhaps Busta's break will take him to the title. It is so hard to make balls on that TV table. Yesterday I saw 6 straight dry racks.

Unless Saturday's format is different from the rest of the week, there are only 6 rounds in a day, so I seriously doubt Earl played 7 matches....

Apparently your not watching it??

They discussed this matter in depth, and Earl complained about the format. Him having to play 7 matches in 1 day. THEN get up and play at noon again.

So Saturday's format IS different...apparently.

This was the lay-out, but I don't know how to diagram what the CB did. Busta hit the CB hard, with draw, and after contact with the 5, it went forward until passing the 8, then came back down table to the 6. Very nice shot, it even confused Billy I. because he thought he had maybe gone rail first but after replaying the shot, it showed that he didn't.

you saying he did something like the yellow line (A) or the red/blue line (B)? without hitting a rail? looks impossible, but i guess that's why he gets paid the big bucks.

I don't think it is impossible using the measles ball...That ball takes a fraction longer for the draw or english to take...Thus if th CB was hit hard, it could take enough time to allow the CB to hit the side rail and kick out past the 8-ball before the draw had time to grab....especially if the cloth was a little slick still....

The hard part is the accuracy of pocketing the ball with draw and a hard stroke.....to 1/2 a pocket....JMO

That's exactly what happened. I haven't even looked at the diagram, and I know which shot you guys are discussing. ;)

No, the CB hit the side rail after contact on the 5 but then went forward to clear the 8, then came back down table for the 6. It's done using a very firm/pop stroke, in which the CB doesn't take the english right away, therefore, it's able to clear the 8. Hope that explanation makes sense.
