Earl for next MC Captain............................

I feel that Earl as captain would be a fantastic choice and would increase viewers just because they would want to watch him loose his mind .
I don't mean any disrespect to Shane or anyone else I've been fortunate to have met both and enjoyed my brief visit and time spent around both of these fine players , remember it's for the love of the game and to showcase the talented players who represent each team and if we can get more interest and new players involved the better .

I'll go pop some popcorn to eat while I watch the negative Nancy's loose their minds over my thoughts ha ha !
 
Earl has amazing talent but zero emotional intelligence. I was really rooting for him but he was his own worst enemy thru several racks. Shane is the likely choice but honestly, Skyler could do it and serve the team well imo. Earl should however take over Phil's spot announcing. He is good at it.

Yeah, there were certainly times when it looked like his teammates had to manage his emotions and he may not have been as supportive to them but I don't recall anything approaching the tournament needing to discipline him. Maybe whacking his cue on the floor could have gotten a "cool it" from the ref.

I honestly wonder what he would be like as a captain, if not actually playing the game would make it easier for him to manage his emotions. Or it could make it worse, it's one thing to be angry at yourself for missing, it's another to have someone angry at you for your miss. He definitely has the fire and passion but I don't know he would function as a team coach. I thought Skylar Woodward did well as co captain, although I think that role is mainly about assisting the Captain in executing his vision and less about making decisions.

I've never heard Earl in the booth with another announcer. His commentary seems more focused on the techniques and he also talks a lot on the videos I've watched. He's entertaining to listen to and very informative if you are studying the game. If I'm watching the game as a sporting event more than a learning experience, I'd like him to dial it back a little bit. If he were break down and analyze key points of the game with a replay in between racks I think that would be great but he might be a little much for live broadcast. Or he could approach it differently and be great.

stats don't lie, he was the worst player in the team. also, we all saw the earl maintenance needed out on the stage, but not how much babysitting that was needed in the practice room and in team building. could've been time better spent

BTW, anything that senile old nitwit says about me i take as a major badge of honor. I now have him in on permanent Ignore. His futile attempts at cogent posts used to be somewhat entertaining. Now they're just sad.
