Based on the last game, I'm thinking Shane bet on Earl.
I hate to interrupt this wonderful thread with Shane pictures, but I must tell you that I really get a kick out of your avatar. I don't know why, but each time I see it, it makes me smile! :grin-square:
Missing that 8 ball, along with Earl covering the spread I think there was more involved for both of them than that $2000 winner take all.
Don't know who was offering that spread but my guess is that the players had bets made with no spread and laughed to the bank this morning.

In 2004 at the Glass City Open the last game of the night was Earl playing against Keith. What a performance. Earl was Earl and Keith was Keith. Would like to see Keith get back into the game and have him match up against Earl again, and have some of the old pros like Billy and Danny be the commentators. Would be a great pay per view and make a great video. Keith should work on Bud sponsoring him. He would give a great return for the buck.
Hopefully the next time Earl plays they do have him miked.

If matches are truely rigged & people, players, etc. are making money on rigged matches (even exhibitions) then the game deserves to be in the duldrums that it is.
I'm not naive, but I would think that at the higher level, pride of their skill would be more valuable than money.
With the game where it is regarding money, I may be wrong, but I hate to think so.
I can't see Earl dumping, & I'd hate to think SVB would.

Shane drilled an extremely difficult shot on the 7 then barely hung the 8 on a thin cut while getting position on the 9. How anyone can say that was rigged is beyond me. If it was then it seems more likely he would have just missed the 7.....
That 8 had a better chance of falling in than staying up. If he tried to dump on that shot he picked the wrong one. Add to that, Shane really wanted revenge for the last time they met on the 10 footer. He works incessantly to be the very best, and I don't really think he needs the money anyway.
Besides, these two guys are the last ones I'd ever expect to dump. Earl may do many things wrong (sharking included), but he's honest to a fault when it come to playing the game itself.
