Here is a way of getting a good appraisal. It will cost you about $10. Put it on ebay with a high reserve. One high enough that you would gladly sell it for. Let people bid and the last bid is a pretty good idea of what it is really worth. You will have to pay ebay for listing it but no commission fees. Report back to us and let us know how it went. I would guess $500 or so would be the last bid. Let me know how close I was.

Talked with guy at Meucci who said I would probably never find anyone else with one like it (I don't think he meant there might not be anymore, just that I 'd probably never run into it). He was also unaware that Bob had ever made a Road Agent for Earl.
I don't know if it would bring over $2000, but I would certainly not let it go for $500 as it is unusual, if nothing else. I am probably going to seek an actual appraisal of the cue, if I can't find out any further information on my own.

that cue at 1 time might just have been earls cue. i know that when Don mackey was running the old mens PBT he had most if not all players signed with meucci. so BOB Meucci just might have made that cue for earl. i will ask earl when i see him thursday at turning stone casino and report back to you......................................mike
Follow my advice and let ebay get you a real appraisal. Antique dealers tell Ivory tusk owners their tusks appraise at several hundred dollars per pound when in reality they will be lucky to get $150 per pound. Ebay will get a real market value. Set the reserve at $1000 or so and see what the high bid is. You don't have to sell it if it does not hit reserve. You will only be out the listing fees or $10 or so.Avery said:

As you know, we discussed the cue. I think it is a very rare, possibly one of a kind cue. It is among the earliest of the "Daytime Road Agent" cues. Also, there are very few Earl Strickland Meuccis in existence (I have one - the one featured on Proficient's site). This cue is probably from the mid to late 1980's.
Concerning the value, most Meucci collectors ( and there are a lot) are bargain hunters and the cues fall into a lower price range. Rarely will a Meucci surpass the $700 barrier. I can see this getting bid up to $800 to $1,000 on E-bay if it's in really great shape. I do think its value will increase down the road.

The question is........Does this say Meucci Originals or just Meucci. I ask because i have seen numerous David Howard cues that said "David Howard By Meucci". Yet i have seen one that says "Meucci Originals" with "David Howard" under that. That ONE cue still has me puzzled because i have never seen a signature cue that was an "Originals". Seen plenty that said "Meucci" though. Considering it says Earl Strickland, i'd say its fairly old compared to others. Hell im a Meucci collector i'll admit it, and i wouldnt mind buying it if u want to sell it. It would look great right next to my "Lock and Key" originals along with The Olympian and The Music Cue. And the Meucci or all Originals. The Gambler cue with RED dice. Yes its 1 of a kind, can u believe Meucci did such a thing. Just imagine what the price on that would look like someday when im long gone and my grandkids sell all my cues, LMAO........TATE said:

I've never seen one labeled that way either. I'm wondering if it was re-done. Meucci saved the imrpinting equipment and they could have added the "David Howard" later on. Or maybe it had the wrong buttcap put on at the factory, someone noticed it, and rolled the David Howard on. The David Howard lettering would have been a different type style - thinner and smaller letters.

Nah, nowhere near what Bob said it was worth. I definately wasnt spending $8,000 on a Meucci no matter if it was 1/1, LoL. Thats just crazy to spend that much money on one of those when u could have a Tascarella or a Mottey for that type of money. Hell u could have both if u caught the right people with the right prices, LoL. Its a sweet cue though, i dunno what it is about meucci originals. I guess because my very 1st cue ever was an MO-1 and i've just been hooked ever since. I do have other cues like from custom makers. But as with ALL custom cues that i own. They will never see chalk, hehe. A few of my Meucci's have been played with on 1 shaft but other shaft is untouched. So i dunno, they may bring a few "pennies" later on down the road...=-)TATE said:
