Earl Strickland fans – Check out our new gallery of the 1982 Dayton 9-Ball Open. This was Earl’s first significant tournament victory. He bested Buddy Hall in the finals for the win. There are only 19 B&W images in this small gallery as I shot only a single roll of Tri-X film at this tournament. By the way, the files I uploaded to Smugmug are all over 1 megabyte in size, so they have plenty of resolution for nice prints. They may be downloaded or you can order prints from Smugmug. I hope you enjoy checking out these historic old pics.

Man that's really cool. Who would look at that kid and say "You know what that boy's gonna win half a dozen world championships"? lol Btw Mr. Strickland if you're reading this you should have kept the long hair it was pretty snazzy.

It is nice to see Earl so young and full of enthusiasm. You see the sparkle in his eyes and he is ready to beat the world. Unfortunately, Earl's inner demons have taken their toll through the years.

Here are some photo's of Earl from the 2005 U.S. Open, taken during a match between Earl and Ralf Souquet.

It is sad to see a champion of Earl's caliber acting like this.
