Bj dogs another runout on the hill. Doesn't look like much of a closer. Earl gets out then scratches. Ob1 is heard crying again. Bj on hill again. Has out. Early combo and gets it. Bj wins. Starting next one
 
Congrats BJ. Earl can't fade ole FlatTop!:D
For those who aren't aware...BJ recently had a heart attack & probably isn't quite his old self just yet. ;)
 
Earl Breaks, makes a ball (BJ's big head in way again) and it looks like the 9 is hanging in the top-left. Might be a short rack. BJ won't move!!!

Something happened and BJ is at the table. OKay, some back-n-forth. Earl plays a 4-5 combo in the side then misses the 4 in the side. BJ is back. Makes the 4, banks the 6 in the same pocket and is very straight on the 7. and he makes it.

BJ back to 5.

<long pause> <insert bar drama here>

BJ wins the first set. Now he's up 1 in the second and breaking.
 
BJ breaks makes a ball and misses the next shot. Earl is running out. Thin cut on the 5 but makes it w/ ease. Perfect on the 6, 7, 8, and the 9 is hanging in the corner. BJ gives up the rack before Earl shoots the 8.

Earl breaks but it's dry. BJ has a tough shot on the 1. Helping @ register, but I think BJ tried to bank the 1 and it rattled. Earl shot at it and now it's in the center of the table.

Bj tries to cut the 1 in the side with a 2way shot in mind. Misses the 1 and leaves Earl a kick on it. He misses. BJ plays 1-3 combo. A customer distracts me and now Earl is back shooting at the 4. Which he makes.

Pretty perfect on the 5 and now he and BJ are having words. Earl looks a little angry, but whatever b/c he makes the 5 and lands great on the 6 to the bottom-right.

7 to the top-right. 8 to the bottom-left and the 9 outta go in the top-right. OMG. He dogged it. Left a pretty routine cut shot down the rail for BJ.

BJ now up by 2.
 
I have to say it sounds like they are both playing bad.I sure hope one of them gets in a groove.

I would have much more respect for BJ if he said that right after he said screw the spot. :eek: With a spot, I find it hard to call it an asswhooping.
 
In fairness it probably shouldn't be "on the net". I mean it's a fairly standard little match for 2000. I can see where Earl wouldn't like it. It's only because it's Earl that it's on the net. If BJ was playing another local then no one would care.

Maybe in fairness to Earl you should stop the reporting and let him gamble in peace - nah - he is a Five time world champion and should be used to the spotlight.

Come on Earl - show us your legendary speed!

How is BJ doing now from the heart attack? He put a couple of cues in my booth in PA this year to sell and the next thing I know someone told me about his attack. Very young for the attack, hope all is well. Well I guess I wont be getting much sleep with this thread going :D
