Tony has played on the Eurotour as well as the world 9 ball championships numerous times. He played serious pool for almost 10 years before he won the International 10 ball. Daryl Peach was similar, he played pro pool for 10 years before winning the World 9 ball in 2006. The World Pool Masters barely counts as a major win due to the brevity of the event and matches, any of them have a chance to win it. My point is these guys put some serious time into learning the game.
Ronnie is insanely talented, one of the greatest cueists of all time. No doubt he is capable of performing well in events with short races to 11 or less. But in a long match to 100, with limited practice he is definitely the underdog. It'd be like Earl playing Ronnie a best of 33 frame snooker match.

Ronnie is okay at pool, capable of doing well at pool tournaments, but he's not in class of guys like Strickland. Even on slightly larger 10ft which would slow Earl down somewhat, I don't think he could ever win a race to 100.
In my opinion he should focus on snooker because as he isn't the best anymore and in fact hasn't been for quite some time.

You clearly don't understand the differences between pool and snooker. Stick to what you know...
John Higgins of course. Superior mental discipline to any other player. Much better at tactical play than Ronnie.
He's snooker's equivalent to Ralf Souquet.
It would be a very interesting match. Ronnie would have absolutely no problem with the table or the pockets, he would suffer in the safety and strategy department though. Ronnie has come in 2nd place twice in major 9 ball events - one was a few years ago where he lost to Mika in the final and the other was many years ago (late 90's) where he lost to Earl in the final, incidently he was using a borrowed cue for that one....not bad for someone who doesn't play or even care about pool. But it's a moot point as Ronnie would never play if there wasn't big money involved, which is never going to happen in pool.
Steve Davis would disagree, but I don't guess he could be considered an expert on the subject or anything.

I doubt anybody in the world right now could match Earl on the multiple rail position play that he showed in the match last week, which seemed to be extremely important in finishing runouts on the 10' table. He simply has too much stroke power combined with speed control. If there was one guy that could do it, though, I think it would be Bustamante.
