Earl Vs Shane Bar Table, who is gonna win?

Love and respect both players...

I'm not going to say who I favor.

I do think that we will see some nice packages from each, and that being said, maybe the 9-ball portion of the match should be race to 25 or 30.

This would be a great match and I too, would make myself available to stream this LIVE!
Daniel, please give me a call. Lets try and get this thing done

Based on pure natural skill I agree with the first line but feel the complete opposite about the second.

Completely agree. I think Earl is one of the most naturally gifted and all around capable pool players of all time. He is *very* knowledgeable and has as much experience as anyone. Thus I think Earl *should* win any of those games. But because Earl is his own worst enemy, and can't seem to maintain an even composure, I think I would bet on Shane every time and come out ahead.

Very observant and an astute post. I absolutely agree, but playing on a barbox changes things a bit in Shane's favor. When was the last time Earl even played on a barbox? This is true especially for 8 ball.

Your statement/question here could just as easily be used in the argument "we don't know how well Earl plays on a barbox...it could be his best game!" Who knows?

Just wanted to add, the last set was "alternate" break. Earl does not have the break that Shane has, so this was a equalizer for Earl.

On the bar box, they will both run out like water goes down hill. Basically, it will be a break contest and I'm leaning toward Shane.

The only game that should be alternate break is 1 Pocket.

YEP!!!! Let the big dogs EAT! Getting down just a couple of games playing alternate break (8,9, or 10 ball), is a HUGE hill to climb, but winner breaks can have some HUGE swings (read: big drama). How cool is it to see a guy run 5 or 6 racks and get a lead only to dry break, or scratch or something and have to sit in his chair for 5 or 6 racks? This ain't tennis - holding serve is no fun - LET 'EM RUN!!!

both of these guys are capable of running a # of racks that few have ever witnessed - let's see it!!!!

Slowly but surely all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. This is going to be a great event, I am very happy at this point as to how things are working. :) Press relaease to come tomorrow.

Match up earl vs efren to 100 again on a 9ft, so earl can redeem himself. That would be more fair of a match up...

Hey Justin, I totally hear where you are coming from but please remember I would hope to be able to sell the PPV to the masses, not just the pool purists. The last pocket 8-Ball I think would be a nice twist to that set that the arverage player will have an interest in but Rotation I think for some reason will lose alot of people interest. Now I could be VERY wrong so I will ask around a little but I would need a very big and enthusiastic response to go in that direction. Again, I have to look at this also from the point of re couping some of the money with PPV and so it has to sell.

I would not under estimate the games to much. Mosconi and Fats played different games (one of which was rotation) on World Wide of Sports and had more than 10.5 million viewers. The 2nd highest grossing viewing of a sporting event for that year. I don't think the type of all the faster playing games matters. It is more about how accessible it is to the general public, and how exciting one can make it for the audience in general. As well as having players with personalities that can make it exciting.

The audiences could care less if Mosconi and Fats was playing bank pool, straight pool, 9 ball, 8 ball, they made any of them entertaining while maintaining a high degree of skill for their age.
