My intention is not to take anything away from Dupuis. He played great but I've never seen MD miss so many shots and safeties.

Joey made it to Round 6 in the Derby City 9-ball event. He's a talented young player. Obviously, he's not quite at Mike's level, but he plays well enough to beat Mike from time to time.
It's no secret that Mike has been the dominant player on the Joss Northeast tour for about three years, but guys like Joey Dupuis, Tom D'Alfonso, Jeremy Sossei, Earl Strickland, and Jayson Shaw all beat Mike on occasion. When they do, the only thing to say is "well played."
Well played, Joey.
If you ask me, It's the table.
Whoever said, "Every table plays different," was right. (and probably played on Gandy tables a lot!)
Watching the match, I found BOTH MD & JP not having that table dialed up. The bad rolls, the rattled pocket, the dry -breaks.....
Notice MD taking the throttle out of his break, trying to figure this table out. Also note MD doing his little "ball-spin" @ 34:30 when he thinks he has the felt down & this table figured out.
I can't blame either player for poor play, its just judging the table.
Think Mike plays 20 plus hours a week on that table. No excuses, he got beat. Mike took it well and was happy for Joey. Then karma rewarded him.with winning the cue drawing. Life comes full circle.
Mike has now changed the color of his ferrule to increase contrast with the cue ball. Problem solved.
