Easy 8B puzzle! ( taken from a real match )

Option A all day! I really believe that if you're considering anything else, you need weight from a 664-rated player. You DON'T want such a player coming back to the table, and you want to take care of that eight ball while you have BIH and that one-ball as such lovely insurance.

Seven in the side going gently rail-first into the 8 to clear it. Then: 1, 2, 6, 5, 4.

Depending on exactly how I end up on the one, I might try to come up from there to continue with 6, 5, 2, 4 to avoid playing consecutive balls on the same rail.

Those are both good. What do you think of 1-6-4-5-2-8. If you push the 8-ball even to the end rail then any angle on the 2 will get you there. Obviously if you just push the 8 out past the 12 then any shot on the 2 works.

I would like to see what a pro would do. I think the average level player around here (what fargo would that be? mid to high 500's?) would get out more with my pattern. I feel people underestimate the difficulty of the 4 and 5 (especially the 4).
I texted a pro. Not gonna share his name. He’s top 50 in the country, over 750 fargo. He wrote:
“This is my personal preference based on my personal strengths.
7ball in the side… play cueball into the rail just nudging the back side of the 8ball to push it towards the the spot past the stripe. The Cueball will likely stay near the stripe.
Then….
1 ball
2ball
6ball
5ball
4ball
8ball in corner past the stripe”

Wow, I find it kinda amazing that a 750 plays this exactly the way a banger like me does. NO way I am relying on getting back in to position later. Break out the eight with ball in hand. A high level player could run this rack starting with any of the balls. Most others better nudge that eight toward the spot, on the first shot.
