One thing I collect is products from Tweeten.
I guess the thing I like about this is, Tweeten-branded products have been in my world since I was a little kid back in the early 70s and began playing. It's the 'old familiar' association with times with my Dad I really miss from when I was 10. Also, Tweeten doesn't 'update' it's packaging and logo to 'be modern and in-step with modern times'.
For example, the Tweeten cue-tip 'repair tip' box which you can buy today, looks like the packaging design hasn't changed since the late 50s.
And, I really appreciate that.
So, I have a little 'Tweeten Shrine' and 'product-box-display' on one the shelves in my Den/Office - even things by Tweeten I don't use/never used; like Royal Oak and Blue Knight cue tip boxes, or the aforementioned Cue Tip Repair Kit are featured.
In my collection are a few of the yellow plastic Triangle-branded chalk holders; but, I never acquired one of the red Master Chalk printed ones.
Master Chalk has been with me since Day One; and, is my chalk of choice to boot.
So, I find a Seller on eBay who is selling the Red Master Chalk plastic chalk holders - delivered for less than $10 - and, I think 'Great!!! another small 'Victory' in acquisition to expand the Tweeten Shrine in my office.
I click 'Buy-it-Now', and pay via Paypal; and the order is confirmed.
So far, so good!
BUT THEN... ::: Cue Dramatic Music here ::: I get one of those dreaded and disappointing notices from eBay; informing me that my order has been cancelled as the Seller reports the item is 'Not Available'.
UGH!
Now, because of my OCD-driven need to complete collections AND 'win' in matters of finding and acquiring things on my list, what began as a simple: "Oh, cool, let's get that!", will now blossom into an obsessive and relentless HUNT - as it ALWAYS DOES with me - until the elusive target-prey is "in the bag".
Anyone have one of these to sell, so I don't have to go on a relentless expedition to put one of these on my shelf?
